Well this is pretty simple, but I mistakenly bought cinnamon graham crackers when making a graham cracker crust for my cheesecake. I didn't even realize it till I started grinding them up. It turned out really well and now I can't seem to bring myself to make a graham cracker crust with regular grahams. How Can I Jazz Up Pie Crusts Without Nuts? Whenever I go camping, I like to bring corn. I pull back the husks, remove the silks, sprinkle the corn with Old Bay or Chipotle Powder, wrap back up in the husks, wrap all that in heavy duty foil, and then toss into the hot coals for an hour. Flip them over after 30 minutes and rotate around the fire for even cooking. The husks keep them moist and tender and the seasoning steams right in for added flavor. Then we remove and butter them up for eating. Sooooooooooo yummy. Corn on the Cob: Three Ways to Cook Sweet Corn | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn |

I've done just the turkey breast before and it's not bad, but I feel like it dries out faster than using a full bird. Honestly, unless you're opposed to having leftovers (which is my favorite part of Thanksgiving) I'd say go ahead and make the full meal. You don't have to buy a huge turkey either. And if you don't like leftovers, there are dozens of creative and delicious recipes devoted to what to do with all those leftovers. (Just watch Food Network the day after and you'll see what I mean.) This is pretty much the exact same thing, but they use blue soap in the image and it's on Amazon. It's a good filler item for the free shipping if you can find something else to add up to $25. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002MQZMI/ref=s9_simx_gw_s0_p79_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=0SDJM32M0FKR1DJRPTBT&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938631&pf_rd_i=507846 Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Help Me Find a Dish Soap Dispenser That Doesn't Drip! The can tapping thing was shown on Food Detectives with Ted Allen but he also showed it on bottles and it worked! I buy those sparkling water beverages you get at the grocery store near the seltzer. Those have a tendency to explode almost as bad as seltzer and I've actually remembered this trick a few times. Sure enough, it actually does help. I've found I need to tap it a few times to let the bubbles fly up to the top and then if it looks like it might blow when I start opening, I tap it again a few more times. Oh and I also love to make it with cucumbers, red peppers, red onion, feta, mint, a little tzatziki (sp?) sauce, and again, chicken. Another one bowl meal that satisfies. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Recipe Inspiration: Pearl (Israeli) Couscous Salads |

I'm really jealous of that because here in Virginia, you cannot use a grill of any kind within 20 feet of your apartment. You can store it, but you can't fire it up. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | My Great Outdoors: Art and Chel's Modern Balcony Kitchen |

I love sugar snap peas ice cold out of the fridge or just barely steamed. For some reason I LOVE pairing up cold snap peas with cold strips of raw red pepper - probably because those are also a bit sweet. There's something about this combo that is truly satisfying. Oops. I meant to add that I haven't peeled the garlic before, just threw the whole bulb in, but now I'm going to try doing it peeled on the next trip at the end of June! Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Tip: Roast Peeled Garlic On The Grill |

I live in an apartment so I can't grill, but it's not that different from campfire grilling. The boyfriend loves to camp (and loves to drag me with him) so I insist on having at least one really good meal over the fire. Roasted garlic just became my new camping staple.

We have a big plastic storage box that houses all our standard camping gear year round and I keep some kitchen basics (like a cutting board, knife, roll of foil, etc.) in there. It's pretty easy to slice off the top of a bulb of garlic, wrap it in foil, and stick it near the base of the fire just outside of the hot embers, rotating it half-way through so it evens out the cooking. It takes about 30-45 minutes depending on the strength of the fire and then you pull it out and squish it over your item of choice.

On our last trip we (over)cooked a flank steak and topped it with a bit of horseradish sauce and then squished the garlic all over that. We served this with bagged Caesar salad kits and fresh corn on the cob (pulled the husks back, removed the silks, rubbed with butter and cajun seasoning, pushed the husks back over, wrapped in foil, set near fire) and it was the best campfire meal I've ever had. I'm with mntwmyn - I buy a rotisserie chicken from the store and throw a few ounces on my salad. Sometimes I'll just cutup whatever leftover meat I have from the night before and throw a portion of that on the greens. I also like adding sliced almonds (instead of whole), chickpeas, black beans, corn, diced veggies, craisins or other dried fruit, and edamame (soybeans) to name a few. Another thing I like to do is make a corn/black bean/red onion/cucumber/red pepper salad with a base of vinegar and olive oil and keep that on hand to add to any pile of leafy greens. I don't even need dressing when I add that. All of these things make for a very filling lunch or dinner salad and they make dieting easier when I need to drop some weight. This is the kind of post that makes me want to become more traditional about the holiday. I grew up with mixed faith parents and it made it difficult. Plus, when money is tight and times are rough, it's hard to remove so much food from your home so I always feel like a bad Jew when I don't follow that specific tradition. Without a doubt, the best thing about Passover is my grandma's (now moms) Matzoball soup. I have yet to learn the family recipe and will not learn it until I am a married woman, but it's up there with sex on the scale of awesomeness.

Matzo brei is another favorite. I do the scrambled eggs version where you break up the matzo, soften it a bit with water, then mix with eggs and cook it in the pan with butter (because it's pretty rare that I have schmaltz on hand).

As for the sedar dinner itself, we like to try and do something different every year. When times are good, there's always brisket with lots of various veggies. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | What Are Your Favorite Passover Recipes? |

I think I'd scream if I had to have a kitchen that small, but if it looked like this, I wouldn't lose my mind entirely. That is an incredible change and looks amazing, especially when compared to the before pictures. You made the right choice with the darker cabinets over white. They look sleek and elegant paired up with those stainless steel appliances. Well done! One question though... how did you do with your budget? I tried to follow along in the reading, but I can't figure out where you finished. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Kitchen Spotlight: Sudie's Pocket-Sized Renovation |

1.) I have less than a foot of open/available counter space so baking and making pasta from scratch moves to the dinning room table. Same with cooling baked goods.
2.) I have precious little storage space and a lot of cookware and appliances so I have to stack things very carefully and the boyfriend gets annoyed trying to find things. I've gotten creative with where I store things in my apartment in general because I have a whopping 3 closets, 2 of which are in the bedrooms.
3.) I have no pantry or food storage area so I had to convert my only non-bedroom closet into a pantry.
4.) No matter what the size of the meal, you end up with a cluttered messy kitchen. The sink fills up faster than you can imagine and I have to clean up large meals almost immediately.

I'm getting used to it after 3 years, but honestly I hate how small it is and would trade the dinning room for another 10 feet of kitchen space! I'm looking forward to a much bigger home in the future. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | What's the Hardest Part of Cooking In a Small Kitchen? |

I have a balcony garden going that I've worked hard on and have been learning from trial and error. I started from seeds. The other day I discovered that I have baby roma tomatoes growing and the excitement was almost too much to handle!! Basil is doing well and the jalapenos are growing, but not doing much. My chives don't look too bad either. Failures: parsely looks bad and the sugar snap peas did not survive a freak heat wave that hit us in early June. I keep the progress recorded on flickr (here if you're interested: http://www.flickr.com/photos/chickpea981/sets/72157604576569012/ ) One day I'll do this right and not have any major failures.
