If that's a Whippet puppy (and not an Italian Greyhound), the baby gate will only work for a few weeks. Whippets are amazingly athletic and can easily jump over fences and gates. In fact, you should probably keep your kitchen counters clear of food.

The whole home category is challenged by the sub-prime fallout of slow home sales and retrenching of discretionary expenses. Look at some well known (if not as entrenched) names that are gone or goiong: Levitz, Domain Home, Bombay Company. And I agree their style is dated and lower cost, more stylish options are available.

Beautiful pictures, but I just can't relate to a Knoll Desk that looks like a prop for a staged house. What would that desk look like with a laptop, desk lamp and the assorted cords power strips and transformer bricks? The problem for me is that in the real world it never looks like this. In fact, there isn't even an outlet near this desk! Inspireing? Yes. Practical? Not for me.

That's what my migraines look like.

I actually designed my own cabinet to hold audiophile-grade home theater components, and had it built locally. It includes a back panel to hold a flat-screen plasma TV. Here's a link to the set-up on Cnet. The system has been tweaked since then and now smaller speakers (with the same stainless-steel spheres) are mounted along side the plasma.

I also chose a thick-piled rug to help the acoustics in the room.
