Wow, congrats on making a twin bed work for you! There are very few things I would consider a "dealbreaker" for me, but I absolutely wouldn't be able to share a twin bed with my partner! Perhaps because we're both a little chubby :) Ashley & Ryan's Happy History Small Cool Contest |

Thank you! The sectional is a hand-me-down. I was told it's from Macy's, but I don't see this one on their site which is too bad because it's well made and so deep and cozy -- perfect for long afternoons of reading or movie watching. Jessica's Small Home, Big Bedroom Small Cool Contest |

I think the idea of matching wood tones is a pretty dated concept at this point. It's like matching your lipstick to your nail polish, or your shoes to your purse. Best Style Coffee Table To Suit Preston Sofa? Good Questions |

Re: the bike comment...I spent years riding a bike through the streets of Boston (not exactly a relaxing activity) and found when I moved to the country that motorists are INCREDIBLY respectful to cyclists here. When I'm riding down a two-lane highway with no shoulder, cars give me an almost laughable amount of room when passing. I have never received the kind of treatment that you're suggesting, while riding in the city it would happen almost daily. Countrified Economics: I'm Still Going To Have To Work, You Guys! |

We did a similar move about four years ago, and it was definitely wonderful for us, our health and sanity. Different people have different complains about shifting to the slower kind of life, and for me it has been FOOD. My partner and I are both vegetarian, which was never an issue when we lived in the city, but where we are now our options for dining out are next to nothing (not to mention that most restaurants close before 9, not ideal for a pair of 20-somethings). Needless to say, I've become a much more skilled cook than I was a few years ago. Countrified Economics: I'm Still Going To Have To Work, You Guys! |

Hey AT, this is definitely off topic for this post, but I just wanted to give a couple of suggestions for your new "you might also like" feature at the the bottom of posts. It would work a lot better if you actually linked them to relevant posts, like other house tours with similar styles (perhaps with a tagging system). I noticed specifically on this one, the related posts are just ones where the residents have the same first names. Really? Why bother with the feature at all if it's going to be so irrelevant? It looks like the photoshoot wasn't originally intended for AT, and that it was a story about Ashlae's baking. The quality of the photography is great, so I'm not complaining. It reminds me of a FvonF or Selby shoot, personal and endearing. Ashlae & Thom's Eclectic Downtown Loft House Tour |
