Yeah, tenugui tend to be a bit too flimsy to use as dish towels or hand towels. They make great cheesecloths though. And they're also good as bandanas. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Tenugui: Japanese Traditional Cloth |

At first glance, I thought those book wrappers were the "obi" strips of paper that one finds on newly released books (and CDs) in Japan... Apartment Therapy Chicago | Lemony Lounge, Painted Closet, Colorful Book Wrappers Martha Stewart BlueSeen, noted and found interesting. Slinks for 07.15.08 |

You don't need any kind of special container to pack a bento-style lunch. I've been packing mine in a square IKEA tupperware-like container for over a year now. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Trend Watch: Bento |

Looks like a posh version of what they call a "towel-ket" in Japan, which are meant to be used when you sleep, not when you take a bath. Apartment Therapy San Francisco | Yumi Laurie Blanquettes |

Wow, those are early! We probably won't be seeing any in my mom's garden for another month or so. Tastes great in salads and as a tempura. I prefer the red ones though. And did you know the flower buds are edible too? Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Seasonal Spotlight: Shiso |

jenniejenjen: I sometimes make a Japanese-style omelette (that slab of egg you get when you order egg sushi) with some canned fish. That's yum in my books! So yeah, "fishy eggs" can be good. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Weeknight Supper: Salmon Scrambled Eggs and Toast |

I wouldn't worry about attaching the shelf to the wall unless you happen to live in an area where earthquakes are common. I usually put small slabs of plywood or plexiglass under the front legs of the shelf to make them slightly lean back into the wall. (Having a level helps.) I then put heavy items on the bottom shelf, and the shelf seems to stabilize itself. I've never had anything fall over. My mom brought a benriner with her when she immigrated to Canada. It does not have a finger guard thing-y. My retired father was helping my mother in the kitchen a few weeks ago, slicing some cucumbers with the benriner for a sonomono salad. Guess what happened? ;) Apartment Therapy The Kitchen | Product Review: Benriner Mandoline |

Personally, not really since King Street West = I'll never be able to afford it. I probably don't even have the right clothes to wander around there ;) But then I 'm reminded of what my mum always says: it's free to look. I'd play this game with my parents and sister because we all share the love of food. The "fun" part would be translating all the questions and answers for my parents... (They're immigrants and don't speak English very well.) Apartment Therapy - Thursday Giveaway: Foodie Fight Trivia Game |
