It's hardware that decides for us but it's not the AV hardware. My buddy rocks a two tap Kegerator and a 300 bottle cellar that he pulls all sorts of rare and delicious brews from. It also helps he has a 50" TV and a comfy living room but really we come for the craft beer. When I was at Bowling Green my windows didn't open at all... but that was offset by the fact I was on the 8th floor and the windows were the entire west facing wall on my room: two 4'x5' windows. I have an Ubuntu server where I store all my media, a MacBook Pro which I do my work on and run iTunes, an Airport Extreme which has my printer hooked up wirelessly, an Airport Express behind my TV which is hooked up to my stereo for music and the XBox 360 for internet. I can also control my music through my iPhone which acts as a touchscreen remote for iTunes. Macs aren't perfect but if you don't mind buying all their stuff they integrate beautifully. Won't do shiney so it's Dell for me. Apple has seriously disappointed this web designer with their choice to remove any matte options on their "pro" laptops. I hope they fix this in the next year or so or I may actually look elsewhere for a new laptop. I actually like the new glossy displays, they look very sharp.
