You know...that bridge looks like a lot of fun...until you start wondering how people in wheelchairs, the elderly, people carrying packages or pushing strollers, etc. would, or could, use it at all. o_O

And if it's not accessible to everyone...what's the point?

As a recent college grad, I feel like I should chime in here - while I LOVE the second one, there is no way that some of those objects would entirely work in a real dorm room. At my college, we were told to not even use thumbtacks to attach artwork - installing a wall-mounted sconce and a screw-on wall hook would be big no-nos (in terms of wall damage done when you'd have to move out at the end of the year)! Maybe for a first apartment bedroom, though, it would be great. :)

Did you put in the kitchen flooring yourself? If so, what's it made out of and where did you get it?
Considering something similar for our own kitchen one day. :)

I am in love with that lamp above your dining table! What is it/where did you get it?
Thanks!

I must say...the bundt pan next to the Guinness gave me a chuckle, for some reason. :D

Oh my gosh! I LOVE THIS. Go Kentuckians!

Seriously, I want to come visit. Can I come visit next time I'm on my way to OH? Please? I promise I won't be creepy.

If not, I'll just continue to stare at your pictures and sigh.

I thought I recognized the one in the middle - it's in the poster/promo artwork for this film!

Just so you all know, something weird's going on with the links to this entry - clicking on the link from the main "holiday giveaway" page, and on the "Go below the fold to enter!", gives a "404 page not found" response. Only got here through the comments link on the main page. Other entries don't seem to be doing the same thing.

@alex_pina -
I second (third? fourth? I've lost count) the idea of area rugs on top of the carpet, but not in the sense mentioned earlier of layers-upon-layers of rugs. You don't need to cover every square inch of the carpet in every room. I'd add a few large-ish rugs to define spaces (for example, a seating area), maybe in a lighter or more neutral color, and let the green carpet become a border of negative space. Combine that with a complementary color scheme, and I think it'll tie together your midcentury furniture and the art-deco/20's style of the house very well.

Great balance of cozy and bohemian-sophisticated - I could move right in. Wish I could "favorite" this a million times! There's certainly something to be said for a warm, non-sterile home.

@jy196 - The paint color is actually "Realm" by Behr. This bathroom redo was featured on Design*Sponge a while back and immediately fell in love with it (I'm determined to paint our foyer this color!), so I paid close attention when the bathroom's owner posted the paint color in the comments. :)
