Jason~ your loft is inspiring-- your point about wrapping the space in a continuous color is well demonstrated. I love how you added colors in blocks to define areas. Please list your paint colors....your yellow and the lighter orange/butter-scotch in particular, though I like the dark grey too, whatever you can give me. I'm currently testing colors...hope you can post them soon! Thank you for sharing your talent and home. Best, Cyndi, Austin, TX

Your photos show well how wall color can instantly set the energy~ each of your rooms have distinct energy. The blue wall to the left of the stair landing contains that space and makes it pleasing and important; it easily could have been awkward or dull. Your choice to stop the blue from continuing up the stairs (I see the transition line to the far right), works particularly well with making the stairs a destination of their own. If there is a lot more blue surrounding that area, you might consider a pop of color just in short landing space. And one more thing with that space....I wonder if a bit of wit could be added by arranging the square mirrors to mimic the stairs behind them. If you moved the last mirror on the second row and moved it above what is now the first row...the mirrors would hang 1,2,3,4, making a stair-step pattern.
Thanks for the inspiration Kelly!

CRAZY about the fireplace too~ trying to wrap my brain around how the design was achieved....?

Were plywood sheets ripped at varying depths then stacked/glued and somehow affixed to the wall? Maybe varying sizes of lattice style moldings could be used instead of ripping all that plywood?

If anyone has an idea, Please Share....of course, Stephan, if you'd be willing to divulge this info. it'd be most gracious of you....would you share? It speaks to me. I will attempt a version of this in my home, one-way or another...but it'd be great to get it right.

Anyone ideas?
