beautiful woodwork,
how about pulling the sofas out away from the walls and having them face each other,
so nice for conversation,
how about a zippy chartruese paint, the color of spring leaves to contrast with the wood and white sofas,
a tall plant near the windows for beauty and oxygen,
pull bookcase out of the corner from between the 2 windows, move next to the other one to create a library area,
put up some art up you love in the spot you vacated,
I'd be curious to see the changes, good luck

lovely place, love the aqua and sharp yellow paint, your collections, the high & low shelving in kitchen & bedroom, so clever to use all the vertical space

we have a homemade scythe in our living room too!
broomstick, shoe lace, foam core, alunimum foil & tape,
perennial favorite at haloween

we also have a sharpened spear: tree branch, cardboard, and foil, haha!

I put a piece of cardboard own on the wire bottom to avoid things falling through or dragging. I've used a stroller to haul a giant watermelon. That was good because the heaviness was further up and easier to push.

The wire one folds down nicely for bus travel when empty. When full I walk and push it back. People give you the stink eye on buses, also hard to get on and off the tall step.

I've seen people using rolling suitcases for groceries too, similar concept to the caddy type ones.

beautiful chairs, I would keep the finish as is, it's perfectly honeyed

I see red, black, yellow in your pillows, those must be colors you favor

how about a lively, thick, cushy red fabric to contrast with the lovely wood?
maybe barkcloth? maybe wool from a felted sweater?
you don't need that much material, pick something special

awesome light fixture and stairwell

I used a mop on a log pole to wash walls and ceilings in a stairwell, also taped paint brush to long pole for the corners, extension pole for rolling, was too afraid to balance on ladder over stairs, it was ok on the landings

chandelier looks glorious as is, if this was my room I'd keep the mirrors and inset in between, I'd make it more '70s with peacock paint on the opposite wall, black bookshelves

go dark and cozy with chocolate paint or dark teal or deep crimson depending on your tastes, individual lamps for reading in bed, etc

suggestions, try layering with lively elements, stop when it fells like enough

would be friendlier for conversation if the seating faced each other

with a lighter coffee table in between, maybe paint with a "pop" of mustard or eggy yellow?

tall plants in front of that tall window, dramatic needle cactus or norfolk pine or fiddle leaf ? or rubber tree plant depending on the exposure

curtains in a vivid pattern

cozy bright throws on the seating

big art on the walls, paintings, wood blankets, photos, seascape, portraits, whatever you love

I often find ikea and other textiles at the sal. army for not very much money. Much easier taking the ashand avenue bus to clybourn, than trying to get to schaumburg, friend took a series of public transit when store first opened, the closest her family got was across a big highway with no crosswalk, they turned around and went home.

I see their broken furniture in alleys all the time. I was able to break off with my bare hands a stll usable, small 3 shelf bookcase away from a busted hutch below. I've see broken funiture, twisted out screws on their showroom floor. Have strong aversion to buying there.
