This is actually a terrible idea... glitter gets everywhere and once your little ones start to move and touch everything you can basically guarantee that you will forever be picking glitter out of their clothes, hands, hair, carpet, sheets, dolls, diapers - anything you can think of.

We also have the sofa in the first photo - Corona from Macys. I really really love the look of it, but after 4 years it is so uncomfortable I can hardly stand sitting on it for more than an hour. The cushions are so smooshed, your tush is basically on the frame with you sit on it. I thought about having it re-upholstered, but I think based at the price point it isn't a "high quality" sofa, so it is probably not worth the expense.... thoughts?
Now we are looking at the Taylor sofa from Thrive Furniture. Anyone have experience with this company?

Yay for twin nurseries! I am due in a little less than two months with b/g twins and love looking at inspiration to see how other people design a double nursery! We also used gray for the walls!

ahhh! that wood trim is wonderful - sad to see it all removed, especially if it was original.

ooops! I was wrong... they're not Eva Zeisel Schmoo - they are the "hug" salt and pepper shakers from the MOMA Store:

I have had this idea of collecting Eva Zeisel for Hallcraft (Fantasy pattern) dish set for ever - there is always a decent array of things on Ebay, but mostly my hesitation is about the room in my kitchen/dining room!! I still like the dishes I got for my wedding, but it would be so nice to have a fun vintage set to use to change it up a bit!

I love how there is a photo of scrabble in this post! I haven't suffered from winter power outage in a long long time, but when I was growing up in a very wooded area of New York - it was a yearly occurrence. My family always played scrabble... it was the only time I ever remember playing as a kid!

ooooh - those Eva Zeisel Harlequin dishes.... perfection!! I have been scouring ebay for months for special Eva Zeisel pieces. Maybe I should start collecting an entire service? Very inspiring!

absolutely amazing taste! I love your home and how you've managed a design scheme that really looks like you've collected over a long time and only kept the things you love the most!

Those double front doors remind me of the mid-century house I grew up in ... and those windows - love!

@ if1hadwords - I keep an ongoing list of names that I love... unfortunately we are on the later end of our friends in terms of having babies and most of the top choices have been "stolen" by other couples. Sigh.

I have a super common name (for my generation) and was one of 3 Alison (Allyson, Allison, etc)'s from pre-K through graduation. I hated that for most of my life I was referred to as Alison G. or just by my last name (even worse). AND that my name is misspelled (with two L's) by pretty much everyone.

I think names are so important and have a real effect on a child's personality. If I hadn't been "just another Alison" but maybe an Olivia, (which in the 80's would have been unusual) who knows what would be different about me today!

I have no words... there are so many images in this post that have been so overused and overdone especially in posts and tours on AT.

I do like the photograph of the lady in the red shoes though...
