These answers partly explain the falling birth rate in North America! ;-)

I don't like pets on my bed...as someone said anything that will 'eat poo' shouldn't be in the bed. And I am not a 'clean' fanatic either, just a bit leery of cat or dog bums on my pillow.

What a fun filled home! I too would love to see the complete recycled wood cabinet, it looks wonderful!

@alahoop...funny, I live in a century home and the closet(I wish it was closet's') has three different vintage papers I assume leftovers from papering jobs elsewhere in the house. We drywalled the bedroom but left the closet as a little time capsule.

A really steamy bathroom can be hard on framed art. I like to hang ceramic plates or oils that wont be affected by the moisture.

What a lot of negativity here. Mike you need a fuzzy kitten or a little dog perched ever so cutely on your sofa, people would love ya.
Your place is great!

I like to use white tissue paper and coloured string or red ribbon. Simple and classic. Years ago(1970's) I saved the covers of Rolling Stone throughout the year and wrapped gifts in them...much more fun than 'bought' wrapping paper!

bkrafi...Oh so someone doesn't 'get' art? sigh all you want, and get over yourself.
Some talent here but used in such a ridiculous and pretentious way. Yes wasteful too.

I never saw a tub unit like that in the 60's. To me it looks 80's all the way.
Great before and after!

Whoa burnttoast are you always so meanspirited or did you roll outta bed on the wrong side today?

I like this space, it is refreshing to see something other than the usual 'mid century' look that has become a cliche.

Love the soft warm glow and I want that velvet sofa!

Lots of ideas here but if you just bought this house it probably makes no sense to make major changes right away.( unless you just won the lottery!) Paint the walls a nice warm colour( I like the pale moss idea), get yourself a collection of something to display above the cabinets and enjoy. As time goes on look for some lovely tile for a backsplash.
Meanwhile enjoy your new home! Lucky you to have that woodsy view to gaze at while your hands are in the sink!

As a woman who always wears skirts or dresses I hate that clear walkway!

Really refreshing to see something other than mid century style here. This looks like a well loved and comfortable home....I would love to have that wood burning cookstove in my kitchen!

For those who would like to see a house stay in place, remember that hundreds of the old buildings on the south shore of Nova Scotia were dismantled in New England and ferried across to Nova Scotia by Loyalists during the American Revolution. Maybe that little cape has gone 'home'!
I lived in a similar little house in NS once upon a time and would move back there in a heratbeat.
