Really folks? I think this took amazing vision. I would have walked right past the original piece thinking it unsavable. Great job personalizing this piece and making it modern!

Our dog knows she gets to come on the couch when "her" blanket is spread out. But who cares? What I want to know is where that amazing rug is from!

Pour yourself a cocktail and relax folks, this post is about having a fun, inexpensive backyard movie night. For years my family has projected movies from a hand me down office machine onto a sheet (we used a wrinkle-free one that someone had gifted us but that kind of grosses us out). No, the image probably isn't the sharpest, but it sure is fun!

My twin boys would do anything for this bed - maybe even eat brussel sprouts!

Look at shops that support quilters or sell quilts (physical or online). For a similar project I found some little wood clips that nail into the wall and pinch the tapestry. With two at the top my rug hangs straight and flush with the wall, with no holes!

When we were decorating our twin (boys) room we had no idea what their gender would be, but weren't interested in doing traditional gender colors/patterns anyway. Somehow, despite spending most of their time in a totally eclectic home, filled with art made by friends and a mish-mash of furniture, they instinctively rejected most cuddly things and zeroed in on trains, trucks and cars - definitely not what this bike-riding, no TV family was anticipating. We have come to accept that the cliches persist for a reason.

We bought a used Chariot on eBay to tow around our twin boys and on many days use it to jog, bike and stroll! By far the best gear purchase. The two downsides that I've seen though are that there is a bench seat rather than buckets, so the two kids have to be able to get along and share any snacks/toys that you give them; and you can't count on the double fitting through all doorways (which seems to be hit and miss with double joggers in general). But so far being able to have the boys happy while being carted around and letting mommy and daddy have a little peace and adult convo has been worth its weight in gold!

We had the same problem and added a narrow cabinet that holds the cookie sheets and platters. It is perfect to have these otherwise hard to store items so handy!

Airexurb - we use our fireplace all the time and needed a removable cover to soften the edges for our 11 month old cruisers. So we just got an inexpensive World Market carpet runner, drapped it over the hearth, and hand-sewed the corners so it stays up. Easy and effective!

Before & After: A Stylish Babyproof Fireplace

The musts for us included a double nursing pillow (mine has been used 6 times daily for the past year!), some kind of carrier like an Ergo, 4 lovies (2 for the babies and 2 in the wash at all times), a pressure cooker for making fresh beans & lentils, and an immersion blender. Also, I completely disagree with the comment about Baby Cooks not working for twins. You'll want to feed your babies a variety of foods, and the amount that you can process in one batch with the Beaba is perfect for a few days - who has a bigger fridge/freezer anyways?

The simple and inexpensive solution to twin-proof our jagged rock fireplace was to cover it with an inexpensive carpet runner, folded and sewn at the corners. The one we found on sale at World Market blends so well people don't even notice.

I cut up the gift bags and wrapping paper from my showers and used them for art projects to decorate the nursery.

We put in one low shelve and store our big flat items (like cookie sheets and platters). Later we got fancy with our gap and even made a narrow cabinet door to hide it all.

Amazing timing! Just yesterday I found myself getting so frustrated over all the recipes that call for vegetable stock but didn't provide any directions. I'm trying this tonight with the remnants of this weeks farm share!
