the 1st two shelves are custom made to fit the heights of the houses here in Singapore. most of the apartments here have some custom work done, and then we buy furniture to fit the rest of the area.

for the fifth pic, it's actually a clear glass panel separating the bathroom from the room. and the apartments here are so small, we have to sometimes fit a small work desk in our bedrooms. and to visually enlarge the room size, we use glass panels for the bathrooms. though i personally think it's ridiculous because guests sometimes have to use your bathroom. haha.

Many of the shop houses have been converted to cafes, backpackers/small hotels, bridal boutiques, and office space. I'm working in one right now. Doing interior design, and we have a backpackers hostel above us on the 2nd floor which also bought over the 3rd floor and converted it into a beautiful roof garden.

my cat loves jumping and attacking my long hair from behind the couch. and laser pointers. and the computer chair. and people watching from the gate. chill~

but i do enjoy looking at picture 9.

in our tropical weather, mostly humid and hot, tiled floors make it easy to mop and clean up.
wallpapers don't last as long in this weather as well, but hardly anybody does tiled feature walls now.

i love the bed! so cozy :)

i think it's really cool, but more suitable for houses with ceiling heights more than 3m, or even better if you have double volume ceilings.

also it has to be balanced with an adequate amount of daylight/lighting so that everything doesn't appear to be too dark.
