Our family uses OneNote for everything. We copy the recipes to their own pages (where it keeps track of the original source) and keep a grocery list for items we don't have on hand. We use OneNote for all our project management: from grocery shopping to moving homes. It is synced to all our computers and phones for convenient access. Not as pretty as other options, but I'm disabled and for this reason I recommend using a grocery cart for the wheels. The dirty laundry can breathe until it gets rolled to the wash. Big win for me. Example: http://amzn.com/B003ES5TM4 High & Low: Laundry Hampers |

I'm waiting for my Lockitron to ship. I like knowing management won't be concerned with the installation. I love knowing that I can run the dogs out without worrying if I can my keys on me. I am much more likely to always have my phone on me for emergencies. I am also thrilled that I can share it as an accessible solution for my disabled friends and family. I put my ICE contact on my lock screen. I use a "who the person is to me" for the name with a picture of us together. The phone number listed is one that they don't mind having public and will always answer. Use Your Lock Screen as a Reminder Reddit |

I would start with painting the walls a light tan/sand color that doesn't clash with your current colors but can also work with the wants you want to move towards. Ensure window coverings allow in as much light as possible to lighten up the rooms naturally. If you could use slip covers on the current furniture, that might be an easier transition as well. I strongly suggest first looking at the closet and making sure you are using all the space it can offer. I always immediately switch out to double rods with a small space for long dresses, coats and wrapping paper but you might just need to raise it to give more space under if you fold more than hang. Use shelves below the hanging rods for items you will access often and, shelves above the rods for items accessed less often. Use the inside of the closet door, if you have one, with shoe pockets if you have lots of small items to keep track of. How To Maximize Vertical Storage in Teensy Bedroom? Good Questions |

Remove the white ledge. Hang a picture or mirror to cover the entire indent. Alternatively, add some shutters or an Asian screen with a light behind to make it look like a window is there. What Can I Do with Shallow Wall Niche? Good Questions |

I had a similar set up at one point. I put a sofa facing the fireplace wall with a chair in the corner and cushions for the fireplace ledge for extra seating. I had a small bench along the window to hold plants. I put a dining area where your window wall is, but that would be a great place for your piano and you could place a smaller table, that could also be used for dining or a desk, there as well.
