PESTO with ricotta/tofu or any other kind of cheese (beside parmigiano or pecorino) is NOT real pesto. that's it.

i agree with Valhall.. beside you really just need 1 spoon of crude olive oil for the pesto, not tons of it, since the pine nuts are oily enough. Mamma teaches.Emma eats. :-)

i love bfast and it really kicks my energy level up.
my fav is Quinoa with 1 egg (beaten & mixed with it) 1 veggy bfast patty from Treder Joe's.
the quinoa i make the nite before, then mix the egg and quickly cook in microwave or stove top, and the bfast patty is an easy 45 sec in microwave. a touch of olive oil and is done.

full of protein whole graing and such.

a variation is quinoa egg ricotta (fresh) and 1/2 avocato all mix together.
then u dont need lunch. just some snack mid afternoon.

putting all in my ornage acct and using it to go on vacation in july. actually a little of it wil go towards my "i got my green card" celebration which officially starts TODAY!
im free at last.

I'd like to share this as i did it last nite having some people over and really craving pasta.

Rigatoni (Ladini is my fav pasta brand it's kinda expensive but it's really the best, and it's made in Roma) with caramelized onions turkey bacon fresh tomatoes and ricotta.
what i did is "frying" the bacon in a nonstick pan, with no oil or butter, then i removed it and put 1 white onion in the pan, and cooked it slow with a bit of white wine, planty of water nut meg and 1 1/2 teaspoon of brown sugar. added then the bacon stirred.
in the meantime i mixed the ricotta with 1 tomato oil salt and pepper.
when the pasta is ready mix the onions and bacon, then add the ricotta mix, some peocrino or parmigiano and ..it's sooooooo good.
this is what i had in the refrigerator that's why i made it.

i dont like bags either although Miele is very well known for being quite the front runner as far as appliances.
But if i could afford that, i'll rather buy a dyson. no bags allowed. and 200 less.

LOCAL! same experience with HD or OSH's plant they die too quick. or maybe it's me?
i went to the rolling green nursery in culver city a couple of months ago and it's IMPRESSIVE. to bad you have to have a resale licence to buy there, but im sure you can find a friend to bring with, including the licence.
and the prices are really good too.

@ Janson: ABSOLUTELY!! i just changed my 4 ikea chairs cuz they were totally destroied, and kept one for only that purpose: boyz scratchin' action.

for earthquake prone areas AKA our lovely L.A nothing is a good idea for above your head while you sleep, not even to have your cat...
that's why i have a big ol' picture and my cat(s).
i dont make much sense i know.
but i love this solution.
