Hey divisadero, nice link! I have several of those sporknife thingies that I take on all my backpacking trips, and they've never failed me yet. Especially good if you're traveling light, and don't feel like fumbling around for three utensils in the dark (or the snow). Also good for the office (nobody will mistake it for their own boring silverware!) Apartment Therapy - Light My Fire Spork |

I got my crafty grandma some battery-powered scissors. They work pretty well, and I got TWO for the price of ONE. A bargain! Survey: As Seen On TV Home Appliances? |

Oo! Oo! My favorite shop when I was living in Amsterdam was De Beestenwinkel on Staalstraat: http://www.beestenwinkel.nl/ A whole store full of amazing stuffed animals! I got a jerboa there. Lovely. Good Questions: Amsterdam Shopping? |

Moving from a 1-bedroom into a small studio apartment changed my life. I had to get rid of a ton of stuff I'd just been lugging from one living arrangement to another in college, and the experience was freeing. I don't accumulate junk anymore because there's no room for it, and I had to think carefully about what I really needed and where to put it — leading me to apartment therapy and my newfound love of design =] Small is the best! The warmth of the kitchen in that cool space is just drawing me in. I like your cabinet plants and that fan on the wood block. And your ray guns. Ray guns! Thumbs up. #1 - Phillip's Pad with a View |

It's kind of a catch-22 with cats, because you can get flushable litter, but California is now asking people not to flush the stuff because it has a chemical that kills seals or something. I figure it's better to re-use those newspaper bags that I get anyway. (of course, in AL, you could probably get away with flushing) SF Bans Plastic Bags |
