The Grid It was my 'gift of the year' at Christmas. I gave four and ended up getting one for our house. It's so clever and keeps everything in place. Certainly can be used for non-tech stuff too.

I can't recommend this product enough! Saw the 'Penguin' version received as a gift at Christmas and it was SO cool.

The Pure version is cheaper, and I like the bottle better. It's easy, practical and I now drink at least two bottle of water per day. Stick some fresh lime or lemon in a glass and yum!

I picked up several at the Dollar Store and intend to use them as a gift topper.

I would use the boxes for tea bags and utilize the binder method which is great for existing recipes and magazine tear-outs. For on-line recipes and articles, I LOVE (and cannot rave enough about) Evernote. (evernote.com)

It's a free service that let's you clip and store content found online. Create folders for recipes, design ideas, crafty thoughts. Accessible on your phone too, just look up the info and you'll never forget another ingredient while at the store.

I really respect a designer's unique approach that gives them a distinct look and statement. Yet, I just can't get her work. I've tried, and can appreciate aspects of some rooms, but they feel so overdone and non-livable.

I lived in NB for four years after I graduated college while working in Deerfield. It's a great community, good shopping and centrally located. Even had a 2 bd/2 bath. However, few friends ever came over because they all lived in the city and didn't want to drive up. If you are single, I agree with the other posts and take advantage of Evanston or Chicago, but also consider your commute schedule. Good luck!

Petroleum jelly also works well for shoes and shining marble table tops. A little goes a long way.

I use the Ambiance application on my IPhone and it works great. Turn it up, set the timer, enjoy a bath and I'm snoozing before I know it.

I really dig this space. It gives off a great warm vibe and there are places throughout that illustrate the owner's wry humor.

I really love the "Induce Panic" print playing off the ever popular "Keep Calm" poster. Also plan on borrowing the idea of mounting cans to the underside of a shelf. So clever!

San Gimignano is one my favorite places I have ever visited. Great views, great food. My friend and I would always joke about having pasta envy because we'd always want to try what the other ordered. Thanks for the great post.

I can't get on board on this. Looks like a napkin could do the trick and ultimately take up less space in the land fill.

Preocupada: You can absolutely stack them. They don't come un-sealed unless you hit the button. I can't rave about this solution enough. I saw this at the Chicago Home show and was blown away by how practical it was.

I'm a HUGE fan of this product:

http://www.keepeez.com

It's a vaccuum seal lid that comes in various sizes and fits over bowls, cans etc.

Slim shapes make for easy storage too.
