There's a house in my neighborhood that people call the "dollhouse" - it's a pretty Victorian home in which a creepy porcelain doll is displayed in each and every single window. It is terrifying. Wild Home Window Displays: Would You? |

Coming from a St. Louis native, this is a great guide! I also have to agree with the commenter who mentioned Rooster. It's the best, and even if there's a wait it's definitely worth it (their bloody marys and crepes are to die for!). It's not really my style, but it's beautifully done. Being a photographer who struggles financially I'm having trouble wrapping my head around the idea of being able to have an entire home dedicated to office/studio space. It's imaginative and different, but it really just seems excessive to me. Tina Wilson's Striking Style House Tour |

I actually kind of like the paintings in the photo above, I'm just not a huge fan of that green wall. I think this could be a fun project for a vintage-style nursery. Paint By Number Artwork in the Nursery |

Great post! My aunt's adorable little bungalow always fascinated me as a child. I loved the dining room with its floor to ceiling bookshelves, filled with interesting books and nick-knacks, the cozy little living room with a fireplace and soft textiles, the pink 30's-ish bathroom that always reminded me of something out the movie 'Annie', the open shelf in the bedroom that allowed you to peek through to the kitchen, and the kitchen itself, with it's carpet (weird, but I loved it), hanging plants, and interesting ceramic dishes. My aunt traveled a lot in her youth, so she had little treasures from all over and her home always seemed so magical! What Impressed You About Other Homes As a Kid? |

Since she's only two weeks old, maybe the baby isn't actually sleeping in the crib yet and they plan on taking down the pennant once she is. Or maybe they plan on removing it once she can actually roll around and reach for it. Evangeline's Perfectly Portable NurseryMy Room |

So cute! I love this look but unfortunately my fiance is definitely a minimalist, so I have to tone it down a lot. I was able to get away with it a little at our previous apartment but the only thing that became a problem with having so many decorative things out was that it was really hard to keep everything clean - dusting became a nightmare! Love love love it though, and its always awesome seeing house tours from my hometown! :) Stacey & John's Crazy Quilt of An Apartment House Tour |

Why in god's name does IKEA charge more for shipping than for their items? My fiance and I have been planning on ordering a bed frame for our new house in St. Louis (the closest IKEA is 5 hours away in Chicago), but when I saw this thread I decided to check the shipping price on the item we want. Item = $140, shipping = $350. That is seriously the dumbest thing I've ever heard. 5 Places To Shop For IKEA When There Isn't One Around |

I am obsessed with the kitchen. Cute place, but the tacky, HDR effect on the photos was really distracting!! Small Cool 2010: Julie's Cozy Vibrant Tiny Division #27 | Apartment Therapy New York |
