Ah! I am obsessed with bentwood from Stendig to Thonet. I found three bentwood armchairs on the street within a week of each other and called it my interior design fate, I re-caned two and have yet to tackle the oldest hand caned chair of the bunch. I also have a "good deal" rental in Brooklyn with non functioning window. We leave the door open at all times and when showering, point a vornado into the room at medium power. It's far from perfect but I still feel like we have mildew issues.

Having moved cross country with a large vinyl record collection ourselves in our mid 20s, we opted for "strong men" (not craiglist but landlords labor force) when we moved again within Brooklyn. We will never move ourselves again. It was great, fast and again only about $300.00. Now my boyfriend has twice as many records and we have a lot more "stuff in general". I will definitely pay someone to carry the boxes/furniture down 4 flights and to a self-driven truck next time it happens.

I like the chairs! My friend bought some of these as "samples" on The Bowery in New York, but I've never been able to track them down.

yes! I am fascinated by the seagrass matting used in a wall to wall scenario. How does it handle about spills etc? Very refreshing and comfortable home!

I have bought quite heavy duty battleship grey steel shelving in semi customizable sizes from Tri-Boro Shelving in Brooklyn. They support a LOT of weight and dont look bad. The only draw back is very obnoxious assembly involving heavy pounding (which has drawn my landords attention from 4 floors below.

One etiquette violation might be... selling an item that you found on the curb at your next stoop sale. This happened to me this weekend... I saw a wicker crib that I had put out being sold my my neighbor. I can't complain too much though and I have no real objection... but it did elicit a chuckle.

My best finds? Many! shaker chair, metal faux bamboo chair, three caned prague chairs (broken cane) and a Bruno Matheson Eva chair in leather.
