I think you would be best served by these glass preserving jars with rubber washers and hinged lids. My mom has tons of them. These are what they look like, and you can likely find them in any kitchen supply store:

if you still want to go this route, a great solution can be found by using a mouth irrigator to hold the paste. you can see one in this pic:

just use a wirecutter or a good scissor to cut off most of the tip (leave a little bit and sand it down with some sandpaper or a file).

funny - i use the exact same type of milk jug (though from a local dairy that sells milk at the farmer's market in Union Square). If you are lucky enough to live near a Commerce Bank, you can drop all those coins in for hard cash for free (no coinstar fees).

I agree that customer service at BO is crap. The salesmen at the Madison Ave store were inattentive, unhelpful, and downright snobbish. Even thinking about returning to that store stresses me out. Often, they are just sitting in front of a computer with no interest in assisting you. I haven't gone back in years for this reason, and I don't plan to start now.

And to the poster who calls himself/herself "T" : welcome, BO Concept Marketing Coordinator!
