I use Feline Pine, which I love, but after most of the pellets have broken down you do still get a bit of tracking. My poor cat has kidney failure, so now I'm changing the litter twice a week. Ended up buying a special little mat to place in front of the box, which collects most of what would have tracked further out.

Oh, gosh, I know everyone must feel the same way. But how wonderful it would be to have this beauty and help our little coop of hand-me-downs grow up!

Where is the rug from?!

Lovely and striking. Distinct color combinations and with lots of texture going, as well. Beautiful pieces too (and just curious: how comfortable are those squiggle chairs really?).

I have a hand-me-down very like the rug in photo #9. Not sure where my family picked it up, but I remember that during my childhood it sat in our front entryway as a large 8x11-ish size that a housekeeper put in the WASH to clean and shrank to a petite 3x4-ish size, which I now keep beside my bed. I also love them and long for more... someday.

Agree with so many listed here (the Up series, Bill Cunningham, Brother's Keeper, all those other fashion and education ones, Grey Gardens). Oh, how we become invested in these people's lives! I still get Netflix DVD's, but I presume these favorites are available for streaming:

"Man on Wire"

"Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills" (thankfully they've been let out)

"Spellbound"

"Hands on a Hard Body" (which is actually New York bound as a musical!)

"George Harrison: Living in the Material World"

and though you still need to see it in theatres in 3-D, I can't recommend "Pina" highly enough!

Agree with all the earlier posts of praise. Looks delightful, relaxing, effortless and homey.

What do you call those kinds of thin covered "mattresses" that pile up together on a daybed? (Maxwell showed those in his NYC apartment too.) I'd never really seen that look before in the states and am curious where/how to find such things. Thanks.

I'm reminded of two NYTimes articles. The first was about a community living entirely self-sustained (maybe that was in a Sunday magazine feature even?) and the second was a young family who were trying to live waste-free for a year.

My boyfriend recently moved in: leaving his larger 2-bedroom for my 550sf. We have a storage facility now too, but trying to join our space together has been a lesson in facing fears and overcoming sentiments of attachment to things and paring down.
