Finally making the amazing-looking (and now, I know, smelling) pork ragu w/ semolina gnocchi that was featured here a few months ago. It's in the fridge and I can't wait to finish it up for tomorrow's dinner. What's Cooking This Weekend? Weekend of March 3-4, 2012 |

Making carrot/ginger/miso soup because I'm craving that flavor and it's finally wintery outside. Hoping to bake bread and a new batch of granola. Lots of veggies that need to be roasted and I refuse to start next week without some sort of plan for lunches during the workday. This week was a disaster that involved more Subway sandwiches than I care to admit. Happy weekend! What's Cooking This Weekend? Weekend of February 11-12, 2012 |

Liz - I felt the same way!! I scoured Etsy high and low and just didn't get it. Here's the one I had last year: http://www.etsy.com/listing/80947273/2012-wall-calendar-patterns Cool Wall Calendar with Room For Writing? Good Questions |

These. Are. Amazingly. Good! Thanks for another fantastic recipe :) I used a heaping scoop of cinnamon and didn't skimp on the ginger either. I love 'em. Even a few days later, still tender and perfect for breakfast at my desk. Recipe: Quick, Easy and Moist Whole Wheat Muffins |

Made this tonight for some friends who came for dinner. Super easy weeknight dish, and even easier was making the broccoli soup part last night, letting it "meld" in the fridge overnight, and then reheating/stirring in the cheddar tonight. Super tasty. Recipe: Roasted Broccoli & Cheddar Soup |

Feeling a bit anxious this week so I decided to stay in and make roasted butternut squash soup - while watching the Cardinals (hopefully!!!) win the World Series. Sometimes you just need a little QT at the stove and comfort food in your belly. Later this weekend I must get my hands on some more brussels sprouts, and plan a healthy week of breakfast and lunches. What's Cooking This Weekend? Weekend of October 29-30, 2011 |

YES! It's totally the stuff of special occasions though, and perfect for casual get-togethers with big groups. I like Mark Bittman's version in HTCE as well. Not QUITE as sinful. Martha Stewart's Macaroni & Cheese: The Ultimate Recipe? |

Earl grey cookies - from the recipe you posted earlier. But with lady grey, I think. 2 small squashes that will likely be used (spaghetti & acorn). And need to come up with something cheap & filling for lunches next week. Budget crunch. What's Cooking This Weekend? Weekend of October 1-2, 2011 |

My father's daughter - I wear a bib apron in the kitchen always, even while doing dishes (better than splashing greasy water on myself). He's a restaurateur and is never seen without a crisp clean white bib apron on over his khakis and polo. Totally old school and awesome. Survey: What Style of Apron Do You Wear? |

I have one just like in the picture, and thanks to an overly-active pilot light (when I first moved into my apt.), the enamel is chipped. I kept it, wondering if there was ever a use...since it didn't seem safe to use for direct cooking. 6 Alternative Uses For An Old Stock Pot |

End of weekend cooking binge this afternoon/evening: roasted tomato soup w/ garlic and thyme. Applesauce w/ cinnamon and ginger (from the bruised leftovers of last weekend's pick-your-own trip). Sweet corn risotto, with stock made from the cobs. Most of the fruit/veg was local and cheap so I'm feeling really good about it. What a lovely time of year. And what a peaceful feeling to spend a few hours in the kitchen on my own reflecting on today while also doing something that nourishes the body and the soul. What's Cooking This Weekend?
