Go with a lighter grey/white glass tile. Either that, or if you want the stainless steel maybe get sheets of the stainless steel instead of tile so it's seamless.

I just hardwired a Knappa in my kitchen two weeks ago. I bought the Westinghouse mini pendant lamp kit at Home Depot (cost about $15) and hard wired it to replace a flush-mount ceiling fixture. The Knappa fits right over the pendant fixture. I have never done any electrical work in my life, but after watching a few videos on youtube, I was able to handle it in a few minutes' time (took a few tries for me to get the right wires connected because my apartment has older wiring that isn't labeled and color coded well!). Just make sure you turn off the breaker beforehand and test to the outlet to make sure there isn't any juice running through there! Also--the Knappa comes with the plug-in light kit, so you won't have to buy anything additional (it's not like the shades at Urban Outfitters where you have to buy the light source and the shade).

@creative license: haha, my thought too! I also enjoy the frame that has no mat, just the cardboard backing (although there are a few others that seem to just have white paper backing?!).

Lovely job on the freehand though, that's gutsy!

@pinkandfluffy: Hallelujah! I completely agree. I love my TV and do not want to hide it. It isn't large, but it's sleek and looks great on my high gloss black console. I work in TV...why would I want to hide mine when it pays the bills? :)

Went here last summer--love this place! The Boiler Room bar is complete whimsy.
