i think i read AT to see how other people live. how other people personailize their space. how people budget, do, and make their space somewhat of a safe haven for me. i treat everything in my life with what i refer to as the wes andersen effect. they way that everything he touches you can tell immediately is his. that is the way i like to be as well. i want my house, my grooming, my art to be as recognizable as that, nonetheless staying true to who i am and how i function.

kind of a strange question but with everyone here thought i might have some luck.
the last time i was at the city reliquary museum i saw a set of five vials that had soil in them from each of the five boroughs in the gift shop. i would like to get them for my dad for his birthday which is next week wednesday. Unfortunately i am going out of town this weekend and they are only open on saturday/sunday from 12-5pm.

any ideas of where to order and buy?

white can often wash colour out as well as make it pop. usually gray or black is actually better and causes colours to pop. most of my professors asked us to look at our work against white, black, and gray. [and on rare occasions would actually recommend coloured mats.]

nevermind, the fact that most galleries and museums have walls that are painted saturated colours similar to those shown above.

obviously, it is still about personal preference.

i think the colour shown is a beautiful background to art. [dependent on the art, of course]

i have a similar moulding situation. In my case i painted ceiling colour to first set, gray over first moulding to second set, left the bottom of the wall white.

like the space. very airy.
obvious you have a good eye.

maybe would have the panton chairs be the head and foot [? can't remember what that is called right now...] of the table instead of just on one side?

i like the idea of vintage spools
or a showcase for a collection
or coloured glass pieces

or actually the branch and nest. i can imagine that looking really cool mounted from the side disecting the space.

or maybe some kind of string art?

or what about a wire and then clipping pictures all the same size on it, like a picture clothesline?

or an abacus with coloured plastic disks?
