I tried both the primer and the red paint. (The red paint was in a little container for me to try.) The primer did have a smell which was similar to an amonia smell. However, when I spoke to someone else who used it, they did not smell the same thing. I applyed one coat of red but it looked too magenta. Perhaps, I need to apply another coat or do a better job stirring it?

The paint smelled like glue to me but did not bother me. I only painted a small piece of drywall so I did not have the same problem with the paint being too drippy. I used a roller. I did find that I could not get the red paint out of my roller although I washed it immediately. I have never painted with a dark color so is this unusual?

Did you use the primer? I was wondering if this reaction was only related to my can of primer paint?

I agree with Lori. Natural Latex is the way to go. If you have chemical sensitivities or a latex allergy to natural latex, check out Furnature.com They sell latex mattresses and are geared towards helping chemcially sensitive people. My guess is they would know what to do if you are either one of the above so that you can buy a latex mattress (provided your doctor gives the okay). http://www.furnature.com/

Even if you do not have an issue with latex, you should check them out any way. I just went to their site and I think they are having a sale.

Also, I am glad Lori you brought up foamorder.com. Great resource. I am going to be ordering latex cushions from them if I ever finish my window seat covers... anna http://green-talk.com

I have had good experiences on craig lists. However, I never go alone to look at something. In addition, when I am selling something, I always make sure someone is with me.

I also believe if you like something do not wait. Many times I have waited and it was sold by the time I decided to go look at it.

Another place to look is a new site, UsedFurniturefindex, http://www.usedfurniturefindex.com/. It was started by an interior designer for people to get rid of their once loved possessions. It has an amazing search tool on how to find furniture. It is a new site so check it out. If they do not have what you want, keep checking like Craig's List.

In my area there is alot of outdated furniture on craig's list that does not appeal to me. I mostly look for antiques or 1920s through 1950s pieces. anna http://www.green-talk.com

Hi. I love consignment shops and garage sales in addition to thrift stores to find great second hand items. Even if you don't like the art you can use the frame for another picture or a mirror. anna www.green-talk.com
