Thanks, everyone for your comments! It is kind of hard to tell in the photo, but the wood finish is painted a dark red. I think for the time being I am going to leave the chairs. The fabric is growing on me and I haven't found another fabric that I love enough to pay $800 to get reupholstered. I do love the shape of the chairs. we used a pack n play for the first six months. It was small and had a changing table attached that we used all the time. We were able to store things under the bassinett attachment. We've moved and since bought a real crib. The pack n play folds up compactly now and we use it when traveling to grandmas. Much better than a bassinett that only gets a few months use. I'm relatively new to the whole organic/local movement, but I am really enjoying the book. It is so informative and inspiring. It all sounds great but what about those of us who may not have easy access to local dairies? What if time/cost, etc keeps us from making an extra stop at yet another store to find the most "local" organic milk. I read an article (can't remember if it was posted here) on how eating local may not always be the most "green" thing if we have to make an extra trip to buy 1 thing, which would be my situation when trying to find organic and local milk. I'm just trying to rationalize this in my head and decide where to draw the line. I see the obvious health benefits of drinking organic milk and plan to continue to do so, and would love to find organic and local, but if it's not easy, is it really worth it?
