I agree with rivkie100. Other than the occasional flowers or wine (which just feel like practical contributions to the party), I have never seen a "hostess gift" given or received. Is it a regional thing? (I'm in the NW.) Do I Bring a Hostess Gift to a Potluck Thanksgiving Dinner? Good Questions |

Another vote for the microwave method. I used to do the more complicated techniques, and the microwave results are just as good, in my experience. Several years ago, ants started attacking my pantry, and I bought a bunch of Frigoverre containers to make sure all my pantry items were sealed up tight. There have worked wonderfully, keeping out the ants and looking great stacked in the pantry. I keep adding pieces over the years and use them often for leftovers, too. None have chipped or broken.
