I'm a big soccer fan and have totally taken time off to watch my beloved Liverpool, as well as the World Cup, certain UEFA Champions League matches, and may take some time off this summer to watch the Euros.

DVR is an amazing tool, but with all the social media (twitter & facebook especially) it can be really hard to manage to make until home without finding out the score.

Absolutely not! And I despise fast food restaurants that use them. They give a false sense of cleanliness when the gloves are only going to be as clean as your hands. Dirty hands=dirty gloves.

Tomatoes and watermelon generally define summer for me.

Regarding: "...she hadn't had a single fresh garden tomato yet this summer, and I was stunned. I was stunned, though, because I had the same problem. I couldn't believe it."

When I was growing up it was very common for folks in the neighborhood, church, and school to bring in bags of their extra summer vegetables to share with folks. I remember in my early 20s (1990s) getting numerous bags of tomatoes, okra, corn, beans, etc from folks. But, I find that very rare nowadays. Not sure if it's because I'm older and are no longer viewed as a starving young adult or the area of the country I live in or perhaps the result of fewer gardens??

I've noticed this the last 5 or so summers and I miss it greatly.

Yeah, I'll never pay "pet rent" again anywhere, or a deposit + fee. It was totally ridiculous, but I was already living in the apt before I got my dog. I fell in love at first site and I was a goner, but never again on the crazy rent & fees.

I live in Las Cruces, NM and I pay pet rent of $10/month + $200 initial pet deposit (refundable) + initial $200 pet fee (non-refundable) to have my gorgeous loving yellow lab live with me. Sigh, the things I do for love.

"previous indoor HDTV antennas required more positioning and repositioning..., all for a minimal amount of channels"

Gah, I must be getting real old b/c I remember when there were only 4 channels, 3 networks + PBS. And we had antennas with foil on them, and you had to get up to change the channel and the volume. It was so uncivilized. #21stcenturyproblems

that is pretty sweet!! I have a question though that I hope someone can help me with.

When I'm watching stuff online on my computer I like to expand to full screen but, if there are commercials at various times they usually cause my screen to go back to normal. That isn't too annoying if I'm just watching on my laptop but, if I've hooked the laptop to the TV it is very annoying to have to get up after each commercial to make it full screen again.

Somebody help me please!!!

I've actually thought about this...but, I'm worried about the mantle in my apartment being able to handle the weight of my tv.

Sure, it can handle nick-nacks and assorted decorations but, will it support a 40" LCD?? Something tells me my mantle wasn't built for heavier stuff.
