Myth: Diabetics need to eat special foods.

FACT: Diabetics can eat anything they want, they just need to be aware of their glucose intake and how certain foods affect their insulin levels.

I give it a ZERO b/c I'm not down with cultural appropriation & blatant racism.

Tomatoes and watermelon generally define summer for me.

When I was growing up it was very common for folks in the neighborhood, church, and school to bring in bags of their extra summer vegetables to share with folks. I remember in my early 20s (1990s) getting numerous bags of tomatoes, okra, corn, beans, etc from folks. But, I find that very rare nowadays. Not sure if it's because I'm older and are no longer viewed as a starving young adult or the area of the country I live in or perhaps the result of fewer gardens??

I've noticed this the last 5 or so summers and I miss it greatly.

@hanna_a, there are no more seasons...all available are on Netflix, unless they make more seasons, but there's been no word on that.

I live in Las Cruces, NM and I pay pet rent of $10/month + $200 initial pet deposit (refundable) + initial $200 pet fee (non-refundable) to have my gorgeous loving yellow lab live with me. Sigh, the things I do for love.

I live in southern New Mexico where evaporative cooling is the norm...and I just learned my water will be off tomorrow for repairs which means no a/c tomorrow either. FML #firstworldproblems

Gah, I must be getting real old b/c I remember when there were only 4 channels, 3 networks + PBS. And we had antennas with foil on them, and you had to get up to change the channel and the volume. It was so uncivilized. #21stcenturyproblems

that is pretty sweet!! I have a question though that I hope someone can help me with.

When I'm watching stuff online on my computer I like to expand to full screen but, if there are commercials at various times they usually cause my screen to go back to normal. That isn't too annoying if I'm just watching on my laptop but, if I've hooked the laptop to the TV it is very annoying to have to get up after each commercial to make it full screen again.

Somebody help me please!!!
