The Walter the Farting Dog books by Wm. Kotzwinkle weren't around when I was a child. But I love them now and friends' children to whom I've given Walter books also love them.

Three things from Ray's MCM Garage in 1 post? Ray will send individuals updates from his garage before they can be posted on AT. Could we please have a bit more effort from the SF Scavenger?

Congrats on your new French Bulldog(?)--so sweet!
Our holistic vet recommended "dogslaw" for our pups (helps keep their joints lubricated and fills them up without adding a lot of calories). For an adult, 25-30 lb. Sealyham Terrier, its 1 cup of chopped apples, carrots and greens with the a.m. and the p.m. feeding. Once a week we food process enough to last the whole week--using organic ingredients. Our pups love it although I know many dogs aren't fond of veggies. You might ask your Vet if dogslaw would be good for your new family member. Also, consider feeding only grain-free food. Switching to grain-free was a good choice for our pups.
Enjoy your lovely new Frenchie!

I loved seeing all the animals in their homes. Our 2 dogs, Emily & Yoda, definitely delight in our house much more than their humans--they take full advantage of the open floor plan to chase each other and play fetch; they use the wall of windows to keep a watchful eye on the birds and other would-be invaders; on warm days, they chill out on the tile in the entry. Oh to be a dog.

I find something discomfiting about baboons, sea otters, giraffes, etc. being photographed on what appears to be a wooden floor in a French Country/Shabby Chic/? setting. Ms. Montrose's website says something about the animals being rescued and loved which are good things.
Does anyone else feel this way? It's a wee bit similar to the feeling I get when I see pictures of those babies covered in flowers, vegetables, fruit.

The Whole Dog Journal does a comprehensive, yearly review of dog foods with a listing of the ingredients plus info on what to look for in dog food.

Erinbowbrite, Thanks for the heads up on EVO being bought by P&G. Our dogs have done well on EVO. But with the potential changes, I think we'll consider putting them on a raw diet. A prepackaged raw diet, assuming Whole Dog Journal gives one the thumbs up.
