Everyone pays taxes! Oh wait they don't have to pay for what reason? I can't think of any! Amazon uses the roads to deliver your products the schools to get trained employees etc. They should pay something. Everyone pays and everyone takes from the public sector. It is completely unfair for some group to do business and claim they don't use the public roads, laws, courts etc. The Amazon.com Sales Tax Man Cometh! |

I thought it was just ME! I thought the strange uneven heat, and stains that wouldn't come out, and odd sizes in the smaller burners was just my imagination. I am going get a coil unit next time. The Sears site had 72 units available all brands and models plenty of expensive ones! I better get on it before they stop making those as I can't have gas in my hi-rise condo in Chicago. There are chin straps called "Sleep Angel" which look like atheletic protection head gear for sports. They keep the mouth and jaw from relaxing and opening. If the snoring is just a weak front jaw they should work fine and are cheaper than all the suggestions except for saline nasal sprays to clean the air way passages before bedtime. You can find their website online and order direct for the sleep angel. Don't Lose Sleep Over It: A Guide to Surviving Snoring |

Great IDEA! I have noticed most nightstands come in a standard size that is way too large for the limited amount of space I have available. I can now see way to get smaller ones that are going to fit and probably better made. Turn One Desk into Two Nightstands Sugar Bee Crafts |

OH and one last thing the Room and Board beds all have 1" metal slats which fully support the mattress. I noticed all the cheaper beds had legs underneath or second and third bars under the center. I had a bed with the extra leg underneath and it was a pain always slipping on the wood floor and finally breaking and dumping the center of the bed. Where to Find Metal Platform Bed? I bought the Webster from Room & Board about 2 months ago. I had it delivered with the white glove service for only $75 dollars. I got it in natural steel but you can have any color of the rainbow if you want to special order. It is beyond sturdy it doesn't move, doesn't rattle, doesn't squeak or wobble. The headboard is gently curved and you can stack a few pillows for reading or watching TV. Pictures do not do it justice at all. Where to Find Metal Platform Bed? Good Questions |

Neighbors and neighborhoods and environments change! The big tree outside my balcony got cut down 6 months after I bought my condo! Several new tenants in my hallway got loud dogs with serious potty training issues! However, I am still close to lots of good groceries, and restaurants, and entertainment and shopping on foot. I still have great public transportation at my back door. Parking fees have never been raised in the 8 years I have lived here. More and more of the neighborhood went condo after my purchase and when the economy turns around I think a final few eyesores will disappear replaced by new condo buildings. In all it is a good thing. Remember to be much more careful when you finally buy! Renting can be a grin and bear it experience but once you buy you are stuck for some time. I had the same tiles in my condo. The condo was built in 1968 in Chicago, home of Montgomery Ward. They are not asbestos. They are asphalt. However, you will need a lab test to confirm this fact. Do a few web searches and you can find a lab to send a small sample of one tile and get a complete report. If you do put the tiles down SAVE THAT REPORT as every home inspector will jump to the conclusion that you have asbestos not asphalt tiles. They do make reproductions of those prints in natural new linoleum in 12" by 12" format and that would save you a lot of headaches and explaining down the road. Everytime anyone in the building has a home inspection or contractor in we get the same speech about the dangers of asbestos and even the buildings orginal papers showing the material to be asphalt are not acceptable to most people. The lab test have always proven them not to be asbestos but it causes lots of problems. Most people get them taken up illegally because of the hassles. Safe to Install Vintage Tiles in My Home? Just a quick comment to the reader who has bought 'used' R&B pieces and found the parts were made in China. I spent all the money and bought a new metal bed from R&B. The Webster. None of the parts are made in china. It was made by Bell Manufacturing in MN. I was trying to save money and checked craigslist every few days hoping to find a parsons or perspective in used furniture-by-owner. Only a few real R&B products were ever in the used furniture listings and they were offered at only 200 dollars less than the new pieces. Now there were tons of cheapo R&B beds advertised on craigslist and you could see even in the grainy poor pictures on craigslist that the beds were just crap from Overstock.com. Considering how prized R&B furniture is you might ask them to show you the orginal receipt if you are doing a craigslist deal. There are a lot of less than honest people peddling their used furniture on the web as R&B pieces and you can see they are NOT R&B pieces quite easily. Especially beware of the sellers which clip the photos off of the R&B site commenting in the ad that the photos from R&B just look better (and their bed is almost like this but R&B changed somethign recently ROFL) or that their digital camera phone broke last week. Ultimately, save up your money and head to a Room and Board store, the experience from entering the front doors to sleeping on the Webster the last few days was the best purchase experience I can ever remember. It is a fantastic place. I have been getting coffee and tea there for about a year now. It is cheaper than Whole Foods and the best I have ever HAD period. Why did I wait 30 years to go in and get a few pounds of coffee? I have no idea! A coffee place surviving one block from Starbucks and Caribou, and staying in business since 1975. This place is amazing. Store Review: The Coffee & Tea Exchange |

Thanks for a very useful and personal story. I hope things go well for you. Let me say you should have an emergency bag for other reasons. We had a fire in my hi-rise 440 units and the whole building was evacuated for 4 days. People should have a second bag with prescriptions, important ID papers, spare cash and credit card and other life essentials in a secure place near the door. No one sustained damage to their units or injuries but many people were unprepared for an emergency stay away from home for several days duration. Luckily those that needed prescriptions were allowed back in by the fire marshall for no more than 30 minutes. The building manager winked as she told me I must need my medications! That gave me time to grab my phone book of emergency numbers and spare credit card. Enough said! Why a "Home Away From Home Bag" Can Mean The World |

Two suggestions for you! I had an oil filled heat radiator on wheels that was electric. It was very cheap to run and it had a timer and a thermostat so that it would turn off after the room got nice and warm or an hour or two after I fell asleep at night. The wheels made it easy to unplug and drag into another room. I think it was a DeLonghi. It was even rated for bathroom use with a special plug that would keep shock risk to a minimum. The units should be on sale now at the big stores. I used mine in the bathroom every morning until I remodeled and put in radiant floor heat in the bathroom. BTW, the radiant floor heat for the bathroom and new tile and installation was only about $550. If you are going to stay a few years you might get the landlord to do one or two rooms. It is amazingly inexpensive to run and you could pay the extra electric if he paid for the radiant heat units and installation. Good Luck too you! It is snowing out side right now and, I am hoping for the best for you. Staying Warm in a Concrete & Cement Building? Good Questions | Apartment Therapy New York#comments#comments |
