One in a thousand is still not a reason to be hyper-protective of babies.

That accident could have happened with or without a rug. Maybe the furniture piece was the problem. (not really).

My point babies trip and fall nothing short of removing everything but a plush carpet can truly protect your child.

I am sure we could find someone was hurt almost every way imaginable but I find sometimes we just get overly concerned about everything.

I have three girls now five, six and seven.

I have had rugs over carpet all their lives and grew up with the same, with six brother's and sister's.

My girls have tripped and fallen a lot, but the rug was never the issue now or when I was growing up.

But hey if you are having that issue then all means don't have a rug over carpet or flooring.

A tripping hazard for babies. Really?

If a baby falls down on a rug he/she will be alright.

It is not like the baby is going to trip out of the window.------- He/she is falling down much like they do when they learn to walk, and they are falling down on a carpet and rug no less.

I am sure most of us who have the rugs over carpet have children also.

Maybe I am mistaken but I really don't think there has ever been any visit to the ER because of injuries to babies that have tripped on a rug in their nurseries onto the carpeted floor.

But if any are seriously that nervous for their child. I might suggest a roll of bubble wrap.

Just saying.

Charisse's Eclectic French Living Room
House Call

6/30/14 04:30 PM

My mom lives in a very safe suburb of WI. I went to visit her one weekend on the spur of the moment with my three girls.

At around 4:30 in the morning I was awaken by the screen door slamming. At first I thought it was a family member coming in. But then my mommy radar went off and I went to check the girls and then the door.

It was open...and I thought maybe I forgot to close it. I then closed and locked it and went to lay back down but still had a weird feeling, because I was sure I had heard the screen door slam although the house was quiet and no lights were on.

So I got back up checked my moms room (maybe she had went out for something) she sleeps with her bedroom door locked and it was still locked.

But as I went to go back to lay down I happened to look toward the LR and saw the outline of something on the floor.

I went toward it trying to see what it was. Thought maybe a big stuffed animal my girls had been playing with, turned on the light and it was a man in the fetal position with a bloody face.

I turned off the lights went semi-calmly to the room I had been sleeping in, got my cell went to the room my daughters were in locked the door and called 911.

Long story short(too late)----

The police came and fond out he was drunk or drugged and thought he was entering a friends house.(no clue how he got the bloody face)

So even if he meant us no harm it stills creeps me out knowing if he had went right instead of left he would have ended up in my room or the girls room.

So yeah lock your doors people.

Creative to use a swear word. . .yeah that's a stretch. Not the first person to use profanity in decorating on AT and I am sure she will not be the last.

But to call a person who uses profanity creative, because they used profanity....these are the things that make you go HMmmmm.

It is the winning room from the "Room for Color contest last year.

You had a green couch at the time. I loved that couch, and I love this one also.

Nice redo!
