Thank you everyone for the kind words! And as for the wardrobe idea (which I find interesting how individuals seemed to be split down the middle on this one), we chose that setup based on the orientation of the bed. We didn't want to be cramped up against a wall and also we wanted to wake up facing our space, not looking into a parking garage. The third reason was foresight to a project we will be starting soon, a shelving unit/room divider solution that will house a rotating TV. Thanks again for your interest everyone.

Thank you, the globe on the coffee table was actually acquired from an antique store, and the wor(l)d artwork was found in Bouclair in the sale section. Most of our pieces are either thrift store, craigslist, antique shop, or sales we've capitalized on. - Justyn

Living across the boarder from Detroit has been a blessing on Craigslist. Herman Miller and Knoll are an abundance in these parts.

Honestly, best day ever! Just picked up a start the car, steal of a new bathroom door from Habitat for Humanity and then came home to this! Oh design gods and goddesses, you are certainly looking out for us today:) As for the placement of the closet . . . we toyed with this concept, equally concerned were we as to the bleaching of the clothes. We have been here for almost a year and haven't noticed any damage as of yet. . . (however, I think in celebration of todays events, this may call for worthy date night to acquire some blackout roller shades on the cheap-to ensure that yet never happens;) @TeaTowelDame from TheDasherie.com ).

But getting back on track, the rational for the clothing placement... the shelving and credenza that we currently have dividing up our living and sleeping quarters, that is a project in-the-works, soon to house a rotating tv unit that will allow up to watch tv in the bedroom as well as the living room. So, as a result of the need to watch tv in bed, we compromised and went with the window. And EUREKA! the closet system that ensures no clothes will ever fall behind and get lost in the trenches of pointless purchases that normally collect in the small corners of a more traditional clothing storage device, was born. Also, we have far less clothes since they have been visible. Free t-shirts and straggly trouser have been evicted leaving only what we love! Last plus. . . it is naturally lit while we pick out what we want to wear.

Huge thank you to Apartment Therapy for years of invaluable design knowledge and knowhow! Our home is truly blessed to have been selected with so many other beautiful spaces.

Well said! Same goes for local vintage and or thrift stores although, without the online search option in most cases. You have to be constantly looking. If you are able to do so, it is also beneficial to develop a relationship with local owners. If they know what you like and that you're serious about a particular genre or style, they have pieces in mind for you. Another tip* if you can, walk/ride your bike to these establishments. This way your not as tempted to buy the whole lot. Happy hunting/shopping!
