@aaron, with regard to prey populations you say that hunting is OK because it can be argued that we eliminated their predators, and "what's done is done". I can't help but point out that it isn't what's done is done. If predators are allowed to return, they gladly will as wolves have done in the western states recently. At that point, if the ecosystem is left to re-balance itself, it will and there will no longer be an overpopulation of prey. It isn't true to say what's done is done, or that a deer will starve to death if you fence it away from your garden roses.

i've always thought this leek bread pudding recipe looked tasty and portable for breakfast since the photo shows it a sliced loaf. I think it would be extra good with a runny fried or poached egg on top (though, that would defeat the purpose of "quick", i know!).

i agree with the seasonal suggestions - i know bourbon is definitely southern (i'm talking to you, mint juleps!), but i personally associate bourbons with winter and cozy nights by the fire, so i would lean toward winter comfort foods like pizzas with butternut squash, cheeses and gougers like suggested above.

i love the idea, but wont it get moldy and gross underneath the bag? i guess you could set it in a big tray....

would this work for water damage on floors? i have a spot where a pot had water underneath and caused discoloration on the floor and i've been searching for a way to fix this before my landlord charges me to refinish the floors!

spray bottles didn't work on my cats - it might deter her while i was pointing the bottle at her, but as soon as i turned my back....munch, munch, munch. i initially tried the "spray her while she is distracted eating so she doesn't know its me" thing so she would associate the water spray with the plants and not me, but that didn't work over time. It isn't always about discipline and "manning up". also, my cat can't control herself around catgrass - she always eats too much and pukes. always.

i did try rubbing cayenne pepper/water paste on the leaves and i think it worked, though she just moved on to my poor half-dead hibiscus. i think i'll have to the cayenne or sriracha route again.

this reminds me of a "stuff white people like" post about vespas, but along the same lines(http://stuffwhitepeoplelike.com/2009/06/02/126-vespa-scooters/), "The Vespa has produced one of the great paradoxes in white culture. Vintage Vespas are infinitely cooler than newer ones, but the vintage models produce more pollution than most automobiles."

Will this freeze well? I'm looking for something simialr to freeze and bring up to a family weekend...
