Dark Roast Coffee, Scrambled Eggs (so that the pup has special weekend breakfast too), yummy sausage from the butcher shop, English muffins and clementines.

Saturday for V-Day Dinner with friends; Smitten Kitchen's Buttermilk Roasted Chicken, roasted root veggies and a huge green salad with homemade strawberry vinaigrette. And then Deb's Chocolate Souffle Cupcakes with Mint Cream. Obviously, I was drooling through the SK archive's this week.

I love taking time out to read your wonderful meditations every Sunday. Today's is definitely going to help me through this morning, when I am already dreading this week. Thank you for helping to center me weekly and remind me that food can be so much more than it seems.

As an ex-Metro Detroiter of Polish heratige living in Florida now, I am attempting a recipe tonight. I don't have high hopes for them though as the practice runs have not yielded anything close to what is available at home.

I love their spice section. Easy to get what you need and cheap. The dried chipolte peppers are my favorite.

They were spot on with the Michigan cherry. There is nothing better than driving Up North (yes I mean anything above the finger line) and stopping upon roadside cherry stand after roadside cherry stand to buy pounds and pounds and eat them in the car. I miss my home state.

The whole Florida orange thing though is frusterating. I live in Florida and have since August. Sadly, I live in an area devoid of farmer's markets and fruit stands and I cannot buy a Florida orange in the fall, winter or spring at the grocery store. All of my orange options are from California or South Africa.

For dessert beer, or sitting on the patio there is absolutely nothing better than an Oberon from Bell's Brewery in Kalamazoo, Michigan. It is the lightest summer ale with just a hint of hops and when paired with an orange slice makes the most mundane afternoon magical.
