My favorite is kale, apple, lemon, ginger, and celery. I toss in romaine if I have some leftover, and I often dilute it with a splash of coconut water. I'm not a huge fan of eating celery, but I love it juiced.

We also have only 2 drawers (silverware in one, potholders in the other) which drives me batty.

Storing plastic tubs and lids so they're organized but also accessible without unpacking the whole stupid cupboard.

The greasy/dusty film that gets on everything.

Having some of the country's hardest water and having to pre-wash all dishes before running them through the dishwasher.

Just curious if the coconut milk is the kind in the can, or the thinner kind in the tetra-pak or refrigerated section?

The 3rd photo is actually mine, and we have since moved. Now we have the IKEA Grundtal shelves with S-hooks and hang the mugs under that. We like that solution, too.

We just got a "last hurrah" of summer squash from our CSA! And winter squash, though stored through the winter, grows in the summer, too. =)

20 Ways to Eat Fall Vegetables for Dinner Recipe Roundup

- Take the everyday meals you already make and add one more vegetable - pasta sauce, mac and cheese, rice pilaf, risotto, etc. can all stand peas or zucchini or carrots or greens.
- Eat vegetables for breakfast (sauteed, scrambled with eggs, in an omelet or hash, in a green smoothie).
- Add a salad before lunch and dinner (keep a "salad bar" in your fridge to save time).
- Use meat as a condiment, not a centerpiece.
- Eat raw fruits and vegetables. Instead of peanut butter toast, have an apple or celery with peanut butter. Instead of pita and hummus, have veggie sticks and hummus.

@erinpearce -- lettuce, spinach, carrots, zucchini, pumpkin puree, cucumber, sprouts (not all together!) are all veggies I've used successfully.

Citrus is my favorite thing to add to green smoothies.

@jess13 -- I'm doing the challenge and trying to convince my contrary husband to do it, at least at home (he eats in the work cafeteria a lot and can't realistically check labels). That basically amounts to him giving up Cheerios, and he can still eat Grape Nuts.

It doesn't have to be an all-or-nothing thing. Challenge him to have his Hamburger Helper or mac and cheese, but make it from scratch. He can eat PB&J, but use it as a discussion of reading labels and making it natural peanut butter, jelly without HFCS, and bread with fewer ingredients. Maybe you commit to eating better dinners or snacks, or just adding a salad before dinner.

Or propose starting with a week, and if he thinks it will kill him after 7 days, he can opt out. Baby steps!

Here's a whole approach to packing healthy vegetarian lunches. The highlights:
- sesame peanut noodles
- several non-PB&J sandwich options
- whole grain salads (brown rice, quinoa)
- homemade veggie burgers
- burritos
- leftover stir fry, chili or soup, chickpea salad sandwiches, and hearty salads

My family is like LEOwens's comment. Dad's cake was chocolate bundt cake with white mountain frosting, Mom gets angel food cake with strawberries, my sister's is chocolate/chocolate, and mine is vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream. And sprinkles.

Pantry-cleaning is always an interesting project. I always end up with dregs of bulk items (2 tablespoons of quinoa?), spices that got shoved in the back of a cupboard, or a half-bag of frozen veggies that sank to the bottom of the freezer. It's a challenge I enjoy from time-to-time, though.

@MLaura -- maybe you need to clean out your closet and get rid of those judgypants.

I had a similar problem until I made warm red cabbage salad and ate the whole batch myself.

Cabbage of either color also makes a surprisingly nice breakfast bowl.
