One more thing: the house in the article above has only 1 bathroom for 3 floors of housing and at least 3 bedrooms (my Dwell mag is at home) -a complete joke, I don't care how green you want to be.

DONT BUY 1080P! -unless you get a deal like I did. I watch tv from the midwest on the westcoast over the internet and game (I have a Bluray player/ps3).
NOTHING is broadcast in 1080p. 1080i occasionally which is essentially upscaled 720p. Your eye can barely detect the difference and if it can it's when you are really close to the tele.

Time to go flat panel and hide those wires. I ridded myself of the electronic mess. I never used the 5.1 system and I had numerous dvd players and I asked myself why. Now I have 1 dvd system (PS3 for BluRay) and a TV. I hid the few wires behind the sheetrock and moved the electrical outlet (surprisingly easy) behind the tele with this contraption.

A second recessed wall plate is below the tv linking to my Bluray player (attached to the wall via a shelf) and a second power outlet

You will be AMAZED at how much larger your space feels when you can see the floor meet the wall (and you get rid of the cabinet). It will be cathartic trust me.

If you feel the need for additional speakers for music etc., get a soundbar which reproduces the 5.1 experience in one sleek speaker.

Be careful with chocolate I tried that and the darkness can be difficult during sunny days -time to get some paint swatches. The gray sounds hot, I always wanted to try the Abercrombie-esq gray look but ended up with a camel color to my surprise.

This was two blocks from my place on east lake and yale. Next door is a beautiful tuscan villa house boat as well. This is an awesome jogging path as well except during the summer when the tourist duck boats fill the narrow road with diesel. Every two years the condo association of floating homes offers walk-aboard tours. Hopefully they'll do it this year. Houseboats are for everyone as they don't always own the land under the boat so if the rents for the slip go up you may need to find a new home for your already expensive home vs. real property ownership.

Living in Seattle I've learned why it may not be selling. Is the boat and the dock sold as one? or is the boat renting the dock slip? Is the slip a condo? Are there any restrictions to what boat types may be docked? Getting a rusting fishing vessel next door for an undetermined amount of time would be quite a bummer.
Also is it septic or hooked up to city water line? If septic how often does it need cleaned out?
I would seriously look into renting this out. It's unique enough and there are plenty of folks interested in giving the adventure a try.
