It took me 3 hours, I did not take any photos, and I still have a pile of jars I left on my counter that need to be dumped and rinsed so they can be reused or recycled. I got rid of 3 grocery bags full of food - and my fridge is not that big. It had been a long time. I feel a lot better about it now, and I know what's in there. Like 3 bags of frozen edamame! And 3 jars of olives! And those parmesan rinds you mentioned. Thank you. I really needed this. I'm going to do my best to stick with the rest of the cure. But I won't be posting any pictures.

@bexblack32 - It is not charming. Public spaces exist for a reason - take your child to a park, a library, or even a mall. Keep your children, and your pets, out of my yard!

It's clearly a pantry. Get some nice matching food storage containers and store your dry goods there (or cookbooks, or serving dishes, or even a nice straight row of wine glasses!)

I think that it's fine to display family/personal photos as long as they make you happy to see them. I think if you're putting them in the guest room because you don't have a better place to put them, perhaps you should not display them. A guest room, if you have one, is the only truly "public" place in your house. And it's creepy to stay in someone's guest bedroom with all their photos staring at you. Also, the bathroom - no faces in the bathroom. It's just weird.

Awesome or Awkward?

I have the most beautiful silverware set in storage (at my grandmothers). It has mother-of-pearl handles and the utensils are tiny - one day I'd love to use them for a fancy tea party.
When I was first offered them they looked grungy and tarnished, but my grandmother polished them all up for me. They're stunning. I'm so glad I said yes.

I could use a place for mail - I'm pretty good about getting rid of junk right away though, so it's probably better that I don't really have a place for it. This way I deal with it immediately, instead of letting it clutter up my entranceway.

I have a hard time finding a place for my gym bag and yoga bag. They tend to live by the door. I don't have a closet, so that's just where they go. Oh well.

I do have an incredibly wobbly coat rack they could hide on, if only I could fix it. It's on my cure repair list!

Oh, you all are so on top of things!
I've yet to take "before" pictures - I've been getting home late, and it's hard to take good pictures without natural light. Thursday I'm hoping to take the befores AND some afters.

I need to fix a piece of veneer on my kitchen cupboard that's peeling, and another piece that has come off. I'm also caulking around my tub, and attaching a piece of vinyl stripping. This list goes on, but those are my first two.

I'm having trouble managing my time to get everything done - I'm a bit behind, but I'm hoping to do some catch-up on Thursday. Wish me luck!

I'm having a holiday hot drinks & cookies party to celebrate my "housewarming". I hope my close friends will notice how tidy everything is (or will be). I hope my not-as-close friends will just have a good time, and be comfortable in my house. Having more than a few people over is always a challenge in my small space.

My kitchen needs cleaning. Under the sink needs some purging. And I need to work on eating food that's been in the cupboards forever!

I'm changing up my artwork, so it's all stuff I really love (I'm behind on the cure, but I'm trying to post comments anyway!)

Is it wrong that I get inspired by photos that are sort of cluttered? Maybe not so much cluttered as just, have a lot of stuff. It seems wrong... I can't help it.

Ecover dish soap - it smells great, it works, and it doesn't make my boyfriend's hands blister, which 'regular' soap does (no more excuses to get out of dishwashing!)

My inspiration is a potential impending move - my boyfriend (who I live with) is applying to medical school residency programs. I'm currently in Toronto, but he's not sure where he might end up. Consequently, I'm not sure where I might end up. In case it's a smaller city, I've been trying to soak up everything I can. I've been taking craft classes like crazy, and I'm studying to write a professional accreditation exam for my field of work. We have a room we share as an office, but I know I distract him when I'm in there. He needs to study for school, so I mostly hang out in the living room. I'm fine with that, but I get sucked in by TV and don't get anything creative (or even non-creative!) done (all my stuff is in the office!). So, I'm working out a way to move some stuff into the living room, and to put some stuff in nice containers so my supplies will be more portable, and will hide away nicely. Phew, it felt good to write all that down!

I took a load of stuff to the goodwill, but most of it was my boyfriends. I have to go through my clothes, because I know there's some stuff in my closet that can go. I'm also getting rid of a frying pan (we have two the same size), and some computer equipment that's still good but that I don't or need. Oh, and some books from school I don't need anymore!

I'm trying to switch to environmentally friendly cleaners, but I have a lot of partial bottles of non-green stuff still in the house. It seems a waste (and a hazard) to just throw them away or dump them down the drain. Any thoughts?

I'm about 10 days behind (eek!), but I'm hoping to catch up this week. Certain parts are easy (buy flowers, check!), and other parts are a little less appealing (vacuum...). I'm looking at my shopping list and wondering how I'm going to fit in a trip to IKEA...

Oh, all of the above - books, craft supplies, kitchen stuff, electronics - basically anything I paid good money for and that could still be useful. I hate wasting, and getting rid of something that still has value is really difficult for me.
