I've started using cream cheese instead of processed cheese slices on sandwiches and things like that. It's creamy and has kind of a sharpness to it similar to the fake kind, I think. From what I've read Transote seems to be on to something, but maybe try adding a little bit of cream cheese with the cheddar.

Alternatively, you could buy a few packets of seeds and live forever without spending another dollar on produce, grains, seeds, nuts and legumes, etc.

I didn't realize people wore their shoes in the house under normal circumstances. I've never even heard of that.

The world we live in pretty much evolves around computers at this point. Computer skills is just one of those things kids need to learn now. My son is starting school in the fall and "mouse skills" is one of the things its recommended to work on at home before school starts. He's 3 and a half. So, not that it's a priority to let the kids on the computer, but it's not a bad thing. Discipline doesn't mean "don't touch my stuff, ever." Just "respect other people and their property." There can be a happy medium between "this is your game and you can touch these buttons" and "I'm working on the computer right now, this is important, you can't play with it right now." Just like everything else, I allow my 3 year old to do the same things I do but with limitations that suit his maturity level. How can I expect him to not be curious when I'm just typing away all the time? My son knows he;s only allowed to go on his games, and he's completely uninterested in any of my stuff anyway, but for a one year old that loves smashing keyboards, this app would be a godsend.

lol I think kids should break stuff anyway. What good is being a kid if you can't get into any trouble?

"There is no such thing as a perfect/clean/nothing-awful-ever-happenned-here place - If you really think that's the case, you're only fooling yourself."

Even so, there is a difference between a place where people died and a place where a man violently killed his entire family. Kind of like a cemetery is a sad, creepy place, but you know it's only natural. A crime scene, on the other hand, is just unsettling.

At the end of the month I come up with 7 different entrees, one for every day of the week and use the menu for the whole month. Then, if tuesday is quiche you can add different vegetables or cheese and a different side dish so it doesn't seem like you're eating exactly the same meal every tuesday. Plus, you know exactly what groceries you need and how much so you don't waste anything.

I've got some in the oven right now. I went with the basic flour, buttermilk, salt, baking soda and added some onions and cheddar cheese to try and get someone to eat it besides me.

I googled indoor firewood storage and came across this. I agree about the bugs and little pieces of bark and dirt everywhere, but if you're going to heat your house with a wood fireplace and just bring in enough at a time for a day or two I like some of these for their aesthetic appeal, rather than just having an ugly pile of wood and bugs in your house.

I take spirulina or blue-green algae supplements because eating a lot of red meat isn't the healthiest thing. You can get them in powder form too and mix them into smoothies.

And don't drink too much milk. I learned this when my son was born and I was talking to a lady that said her daughter developed anemia from drinking too much milk because calcium prevents the absorption of iron, or something like that.

The copper tub is getting a lot of hate. lol. I've seen very similar ones though. I think it's a japanese thing. They're tall instead of long so you can sit in it and the water comes up to your shoulders. I've actually seen some really nice ones.

Also, I love the zebra one, but the leather just won't cut.

They get inside of nuts and lay eggs. Just a heads up so you don't eat half a handful of nuts only to find out there are eggs inside of them.

I also have been keeping everything I can in sealed glass jars to at least contain the infestation since I find there are already eggs inside new sealed packages of pantry items and not enough room in my freezer.

I agree that there's not much green but then again I wouldn't really want to walk through dirt and grass to get from my bedroom to my kitchen. I also see heating being a serious issue where I live. Beautiful concept though.

By now he's probably starting to have his own interests, but they're going to change often and he probably doesn't care that much about paint colour or fabric swatches, so design it to suit your taste, not just his.

Other than that a lot of creative storage for toys if you don't have a separate playroom in your house. Looking at all those toys when you're suppose to be going to bed is distracting, so I have a book shelf in my son's room with books and some of his larger trucks on it and I keep the rest of his toys in his closet and use a dresser for his clothes. I'm going to get another dresser and label the drawers (cars, puzzles, blocks, etc) just so everything has a permanent place. (He tends to use baskets as "loader tractors" and dump them all over the house.)
