^^the food descriptions were a big part of why I loved reading Little Farmer Boy. Apples and onions, popcorn made in the fireplace, fresh donuts mmm!

right now I'm reading Alone in the Kitchen With An Eggplant which I think I found out about on this site or NPR. That has inspired me to make strange meals for myself and now I'm really craving black beans and cornbread.

Also, Hot Water Music by C. Bukowski. Bukowski always makes me want to make sandwiches, (ham on rye, haha- but i think i'll go for salami)

mm dried persimmons, i like to eat those slightly frozen

it looks great on this particular house, especially with the trim and door and the contrast of the houses next to it.
but not for any house, nope

I love making pizzelles especially with a little orange or lemon extract
and they go really well with icecream

nice design but i probably wouldn't pay 55 dollars for it

ethnic food snob. specific to east asian food.

I've had korean and japanese food in their speciality areas within the countries,
and i only really like homemade kimchee, in the restuarants where they go out to the back and pull it out of a big earthen jar
-even koreatown seems bland in comparison. Maybe its something in the air.
I also don't like americanized chinese or japanese food. So much sugar it taste like candy!

I'm really passionate about magazines, so I have to limit myself in a couple ways to avoid the subscription clutter. 1) Only buy off the rack 2) try to only buy magazines with limited advertising and with a lot of artistic merit

#2 helps keep the content timeless and justifies the off the rack price

Handmade zines can also be really beautiful and are a good addition to the coffee table (instead of heavy books)

some fashion and design magazines I buy strictly for inspiration, and i keep those with my design books.
