Such great art on the walls...I recognize a lot of the artists, but wish they had listed/credited more of the artists responsible for all of that fabulous artwork!

Pillows on the brick ledge creating a mini bench is a great use of space!

Chair = beautiful!! With that said...why is everything covered in chalk board paint? From my vast experience (a 6 and 3 yr. old) chalk is a hideous mess...!

And in the after pictures the dang thing is already sitting outside, my guess is either waiting for the garbage truck or smack dab in the middle of her garage sale...sad, so sad...

Nope...should have used her time on a better dresser. This is the worst style furniture ever. No amount of paint will change the horrible bones of this piece. I find free furniture all the time, and would wait it out until a better dresser found its way to me.

The before fabric was AMAZING....but perhaps she didn't want to lounge on the "garbage chair" without getting new fabric, I totally understand that. Should have left the legs unpainted for sure, they popped before showcasing that classic MCM look, now they disappear into the background.

The question about repairing veneer...yes you can, me home depot sells thin strips and large sheets of veneer in the wood department.

If the veneer is quality, like a walnut keep it, and do not paint it. I bought a fabulous hutch and thought the entire thing was a walnut veneer, but when I rubbed it down with a wood restorer I was surprised to find that only the very top was veneer the rest was real wood. These old pieces can surprise you. Also, you will love this piece much more if you ditch the top, its dated in a bad way, and use the bottom only for a tv stand or hang a great piece of art above the base.
