Before & After: A Dated Bath Gets a Facelift

Thanks for all the comments, the mirror is I agree too small but isn't the home always a work in progress?

The tiles are ceramic but textured like wood. When you're in the space it feels super clean and fresh as all the white suite is new and luxurious. The room has an eaves window so naturally it's a bit darker, I decided to play that up with a dark green. We went with recessed downlights which flood the room with light but the photography was more about capturing the mood and atmosphere.

Lots of built in storage now which you can see more angles of the room on my website. www.gildedattics.com

Thanks again for the great comments

This looks fantastic! Love DIY art. A dark paint colour also makes whatever is against it, be it pictures, art or furniture look more interesting and special. Great idea!

It's amazing how expensive rugs can be, but there are some great options out there which are more affordable. Rugs completely change the atmosphere of a space and can sometimes be the missing ingredient which transforms a room

What a great space! I really like how Vel has taken the elements she loved from the old space and brought them into her new design showcasing her favourite things. It's easy to keep things organised and stylish in a home office when everything has a place to be put.

It's always interesting when someone has a really strong feeling one way or the other. There's always good reasoning behind it but at the end of the day we all process our environment differently and that's why it's so rewarding creating your own home just the way you like it.

Eaves rooms are fantastic spaces and can lead to some really creative ideas and inspiration! The sloping ceilings always seem to add character and charm for me. Great way to add space to your home if you can as well.

Thanks so much for the lovely feedback! It was really a labour of love bringing our fantasy kitchen to life. Despite the dark colour, its a really light room as it bounces off the dining table and work surfaces. The sheepskins are from Ikea and easily wipe clean, although I have to admit I didn't give much thought to practicalities, but they are super comfy. And the Ship was handmade in the Czech Republic based on an antique version I had seen on the cover of World of Interiors. I refer to it as an heirloom of the future....More pics over at www.gildedattics.com
