Paczki's are the greatest!! I moved to Missouri recently and had a horrible time trying to find them. I finally found them at the very last store I told myself I'd look at. Thankfully they had some! Like Jelly Doughnuts but Better! Paczki |

Straub's is amazing! They always have new and fun items to try as well as pantry staples. This time of year I always pick up a bottle of Pure Peppermint Extract from them for baked goods and to flavor coffee. So good! Straub's: Gourmet Groceries in St. Louis & Online Store Profile |

I wasn't as impressed by this beer as I was hoping. A lot of my friends have talked it up and other sites I've read as well. Maybe I was expecting too much? Beer Reviews: Left Hand's Good Juju Ale Beer Sessions | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn |

I have a gas oven and the broiler is the drawer underneath. I grew up with an electric oven and my mom always left the door open and that's what I feel most comfortable with. The lower drawer broiler makes me nervous because it seems like the food is 1/2" away from open flame. Plus, the one time I even turned it on (and kept the drawer open a bit) the smoke alarm went off within 20 or so seconds. Definitely scared me. I move in August to a new apt with an electric oven and actually can't wait to be able to broil again. Best Results! Broil with the Oven Door Ajar | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn |

@watchmespin THANK YOU. It's so hard to hear co-workers and people I've met since moving here rave about IMOs and provel. It's terrible. I love the pizza restaurant Pi not only for their great pizza, but also because they refuse to use provel and servers wear anti-provel shirts. Awesome. Am I the only person living in St. Louis that dislikes St. Louis style pizza and provel? I just don't understand the desire to eat pizza toppings and sauce on top of a cracker... makes me shudder. Provel Cheese: A Taste Of Missouri | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn |

@greeneryart - I second that! It's just a 4 hours trip for me, but I miss IKEA being close to me like it was back in Northern Ohio. Would You Pay Someone To Drive 253 Miles For Groceries? | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn |

I live in St. Louis and I personally don't think there's an issue with the lack of TJ's around this area. Then again, I really only use TJ's for a few pantry items and produce. That's when I discovered all of the amazing farmers markets that (at least in my neck of the woods) are all over. My favorite is open all year round! Now I only need to go to TJ's once a month if that. But even still, it's staying local (just a 10 minute drive) and I really enjoy the things I buy there, so it's fine by me. I learned what I do from my dad - save a glass jar from pasta sauce or something similar and you pour the fat and grease in there and of course keep it sealed. I keep the jar in the cupboard under the sink until it's full, then I throw it away! What Is the Best Way To: Dispose of Kitchen Grease? | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn |

I completely agree with the Seal & Peel by Dap. My apartment used to be incredibly drafty - even my cat stopped enjoying her favorite window ledges because it was so cold. I used to lay in bed and feel the draft while lying 3 ft from my bedroom window - not good. Anyways, used Seal & Peel on all windows but one - in case there's any need for an open window (removing smells, smoke from cooking gone wrong, etc) and my heating bills have gone down drastically and my cat is back in her favorite windows. 5 Ways to Insulate Your Windows for Winter | Apartment Therapy Chicago |
