Original meaningful Art, mattress, family treasures and good appliances all check, check, check, check.

I enjoy cleaning my home and keep a regular schedule. I wouldn't expect anyone to do it the way I want it done, not fair to anybody, lol!!!

My number five is good window treatments, the kind you install when you buy your home and don't rent it. I'd squeak in a 5b: paint. Your colors.

Cheers!

Seating in a small living room is a challenge! Www.homereserve.com is one company that will let you build you own to your specs. They have a risk free trail, built in storage, and 100 fabrics to choose from: Amrican made in Indiana. This is who I am going to try :-)

Mine has held up just fine! I make sure I oil it often, once a month. I have bamboo. Big spills get a quick wipe right away. Be sure to use oils that are non-toxic and edible. Cutting board oils are the best and available at kitchen and hardware stores.

I live in Colorado and have bamboo butcher block countertops and they are 5 years old. I oil them with a cutting board oil on a regular basis and they have held up really well. There is only one area where you can see a crack from drying out; along with knife marks, dings from cans and pots being dropped on it and scratches from my flour bins being dragged accross it. I so much prefer this surface for my counters! I have a small kitchen and having butcher block counter tops increases the work space exponentially. Just be sure they are treated right and oiled on a regular basis and you should be fine. They are going to wear regardless; the trade off is the uber functionality of your entire counter top!
