I created a niche in our master bath to hold the TP, a book and a small can of air freshener. In the second bathroom, I removed the med cabinet and lined the niche with extra wood from the dresser we used as a sink base to create a display shelf.

emschall, I also have an HE machine (top loader) and there is a specific cycle to use for cleaning it. I'd check with the manufacturer before using this system because HE's are not the same as the older models (less soap, less water, etc.).

This format is much messier to view and offers less per city. But it does remind me to go to craigslist and search on my own.

That's going to be heavy so be sure to find studs in your wall before hanging it.

Rather than punching all those holes, it would probably be a whole lot easier, simpler and definitely time-saving to buy the decorative metal used to cover radiators. You'd only have to cut the sheet to the width you want.

Calling these herbs in a jar a spice rack is a great idea. Spices can't get any fresher!

Question: Are you adding vinegar to an empty rinse aid compartment, or in addition to the rinse aid already there?

That's a nice update. The pony wall helps to hide the stove mess and still lets the cook keep up the conversation. New cabinets, appliances, paint, flooring and shelves help, too! Me likey.

That looks like a front loading machine in the pic above. With my Maytag high efficiency top loader (which I *love*) a monthly cleaning is recommended (it reminds you) using either store-bought stuff or regular bleach. The machine adds the proper amount of (very little) water. All you need to do is pour the bleach to the marked line and turn it to the 'clean machine' setting!

Since I generally don't plan meals far in advance, I use it to defrost frozen meat before cooking.

Hubby uses the micro to cook his bacon.

Also, cover your food w/a paper towel to prevent cleaning the explosions that happen when the food gets too hot. Sauces and eggs can be *really* messy if you're not careful.

Appearance-wise, this is a vast improvement from the original room, but where is the storage and counter space? Adding a wall mounted sink may provide more floor, but it is a teeny tiny sink with no counter to set anything upon. As a master bath, it is not practical for two people. Methinks this is better suited as a guest bath. Do like the color of the mosaic tile.
