I was thinking the same thing myself, Pokerliz. Except I was going with "negative Nelly."

Gee, MissGee, I was put off by your comment at the get-go. But do note Christina's response: "Nothing was thrown away in this project except for the flimsy fiberboard backing. I used the top two thirds to make a doll house for my daughters’ 18 inch dolls. The doors are in a closet until I get a good idea... "

I hope you'll take this as a lesson not to jump to (such negative) conclusions. Have a little faith in humankind, baby.

Seamstress, thanks for the laff.

ciddyguy, could you expound a little more on your suggestions and opinions about this piece? I'm not quite clear on whether you like the colors you mention or whether they are merely examples.

She did a great job, and the color is stupendous. I think the legs are hilarious in that they look too skinny to hold up the dresser (but obviously they're doing a fine job).

One must go to the OP,s website (http://fogmodern.com/master-recap/) to see their good work. The "after" photo here on AT looks more like a "before" to me.

As it truly stands, the transformation in all its simplicity is spectacular. Fix that silly electrical cord situation and it will be even better.

That's not a bold bar cart. That's an IKEA table that someone painted (guess what:) white, and it looks a bit unstable, noting that her floor is not perfectly smooth. Cute, but not bold.

This is a great transformation. I, too, love the color. Also love the "floorboards" you installed in the bottom of the piece. The hardware is perfect... it makes the drawers into two duck faces that share an eye.

This is terrific. Thanks for keeping the original wood tone, i.e., thanks for not painting it white. I would love to roll in this one.

This is one of the best transformations I've seen on AT. I am so glad you chose to paint the legs a dark gray. Despite the fact that chrome is the original finish, the new finish is far more sophisticated and matches the upholstery to boot! I wouldn't change a thing about it.

I'm with Griffin, et al. My fear was that they would be covered in chalkboard paint. But these chairs are now splendiferous!

Love the repurposing, but I think it should have been painted a neutral color or a green... and the pots should be the same. This way the flowers could speak for themselves, rather than competing with a riot of colored pots plus a yellow stand.

I prefer the "before" configuration. The solidity of the "after" setup makes the cabinets too imposing for my liking.

If I were a landlord and a tenant asked me to remove the microwave from an apartment, I would say "no" and wonder what the tenant's next unsettling request would be.

Stormi, I agree with you and *everything* you said. This is a style that is featured quite often on AT. I, too, am bored with it and in my own way, I care that you find it repetitive.

This is, I think, the best kitchen redo I have ever seen! Congrats on refurbishing rather than replacing those cabinets. And thanks for not painting them white! This is one-of-a-kind and is very inspiring. I only wish there were more of the before AND after picks to enjoy.

The O'verlays look out of proportion to me—the reverse rounded corners are too large. The fact that they are pop-out white makes this more noticeable.

I do like the drawer pulls, though they have nothing to do with the rest of the piece.
