I'd like to know where to source a mailbox like that. I'm in a historic district and don't like the modern locking mailboxes.

I agree that the windows looks out of place now. They should be trimmed as well. We have huge "Jefferson" step-through windows and I've been on the fence about wainscoting in our rooms due to them. No comments on using dry erase board.

Dr.Theopolis, it's a building that was built to be used as storage for a horse drawn carriage. I'd have to assume that 3 car garage was not built for cars. Either way, this place is cool. I like the nonchalant Warhol Brillo box just chillin'.

Here's what I want to know: how do you keep a duvet from shifting within the cover? For example, we have a nice cover that we like but the duvet always creeps down from the top. It's so annoying when you pull on it in the cold night and feel nothing but the cover.

I would love a post on how to strip a banister and newel. My wife and I moved into a historic home in the Church Hill area of Richmond and the risers, banister and newels were all painted and peeling/chipped when we moved in. We've stripped about half of the banister so far and would like to restore the newels too. Ideally we could do the risers too but have no idea how to approach that (seems like everyone repaints). At this point I'd be very happy just to get the banisters/newels done properly.

Any idea where to get oversized duvet covers? We bought an oversized duvet 90 x 98 which a little Googling told me was the standard oversize measurement. But now I can't find any covers that would fit! Do I need to just buy a larger one and get it tailored?

How about you guys do a post on best places to get duvet covers? We just picked up a great "oversized" duvet from overstock.com and I had done a bit of research on sizing because I saw so many variations. What I thought was a standard oversize for a queen bed (90 x 98") is proving pretty difficult to find a duvet cover to fit. Frustrating! What am I doing wrong? Where should I look for a cover?

Why not just buy a rubber floor mat at a restaurant/kitchen supply store? They are much better on your back and easily cleanable.

I've had the same TV since college and really need a new one since football season is starting and I plan to get married next June. My fiancee will probably want to kill me for choosing to watch football over her new series that are starting. You'll save our future marriage!
