I buy lemons and limes when they are a good price - zest them and put that in containers in the freezer then juice them and put that in the freezer - more economical and less wasteful.

We have an art project in the area to bring awareness of global deforestation. Very striking and will not injure the trees.

I love my toaster-oven - the third one in many years and a better one than the last two - this one has a bump in the back on the middle grill that will hold my small iron pan or a regular pizza pan. I don't have a microwave - never have. Guess I'm a luddite!

I hate it when I run out of onions and they are really expensive so when they are really low in price I buy lots and slowly cook them down with olive oil - then put 1-2 cup containers of them in the freezer. That way I have already prepared onions for soups and cooked dishes. It is easy to cut off a portion and quick to make a meal.

I have been doing this for quite a while - when root vegetables are at a good price I buy loads of them and roast in small pieces with olive oil and pack them in containers to freeze. I have used them in soups but also for a quick pasta sauce. I also freeze lots of slow-roasted tomatoes for the cold winter. Too late to do this for this winter but a good idea when canning tomato season hits next Fall.

I make a custard sauce with buttermilk and brown sugar - kiwi slices with it seems like a perfect combination.

I would try a drop on pieces of various fruits and vegetables and other things to see how it would marry. You don't have to use it on a whole recipe until you know what it will do.

I tried several pepper mills and got a turkish coffee grinder instead - it is a tall two-piece metal tube -you load the peppercorns in the top after taking off the handle and top lid. It does the best job of all.
