Those big green eyes... I'm a dog person, but that cat is simply adorable.

It does break my heart a little, too, because just like csw, I grew up with a piano. My parents still have it, as I don't have room for it in my apartment for now, but they put it in the basement in their new home, which is very humid during summer.

That being said, you did a great job, the result is really nice! I will definitely try something similar with my piano if it's not salvageable. I'd rather repurpose it into a bar (or a desk, as Edin suggested), than having to send it to a landfill.

I'm Canadian, and I keep my shoes on when I'm home, so I don't expect guests to take off theirs, although most of my friends will do, even if they know they can keep them - except in winter, or if it's rainy/muddy outside. But I always take off my shoes when I'm not home, unless I'm told otherwise.

Great idea! This reminds me of a doll my mom made for me when I was a kid. All the clothes were made from different fabrics, with pockets that closed with buttons, zippers, and tie-up shoes. Now that I think of it, the doll was pretty ugly, but boy I had so much fun with it - I was about 2-3 years old, and 30+ years later I still remember it. I don't think my mom still has the doll, I'll have to ask. And I don't have children yet, but I will definitely make something similar when I do - a doll or a board. Or both.
