I think the oddness of this post arose because of the title, not the subject matter.

Instead of "The Single Girl: Style Inspiration..." the wording was "Inspirational House Tours from Women Living on their Own." Quite a different tone is set through the decision to drop the word "style" before inspiration, and changing "the single girl," to "women living on their own."

Instead of the focus being on inspiration for styles built around a singles lifestyle (as opposed to with kiddos or a partner--totally valid subject matter as different lifestyles breeding different home necessities), the focus comes off as being how these women living on their own manage to be inspirational.

I really like the first treatment, but am curious how this sort of thing affects the light--is it noticeably darker at all and/or does the paint create weird shadows?

Heavens. The inspiration is credited, and the seller linked to. Additionally, while the DIY version came out great, the paneling and bed design is markedly different from Wanders' take (which is a customizable design anyways).

Mounted, paneled headboards are quite common--pair that with the fact that the inspiration is cited and the outcome isn't close to identical and you'll have a hard time bringing your IP claim.

That is nuts! Sounds like you'll give your new pup a great home!

And definitely agree with everything said about adopting a rescue. I've always gotten rescues and they are the best buddies my husband and I will ever have. :)
