My sister and I are quite tall, thanks to our dad. We had twin beds until our teens. The beds needed replacing and my dad got us double beds, anticipating how tall we'd grow, a good call on his part.

But I don't really see the issue with a younger child having a larger bed, if parent and child want it, except that it's more expensive up front. If it's what they want, sure.

Okay, that sounds a bit more angry than I intended. I just mean that there are in fact places where low temperatures require that machines warm up a bit before moving.

When it's -40C (-40F as well) outside I'm going to let my car warm up before I go.

"Tom and Ray" from some random blog who call -12C (10F) "bitterly cold" (I laughed out loud reading that. That's a light chill) are not going to convince me to not warm up my car in a truly bitter Canadian winter. And even those two say to warm your car up at 10-20F, and my city is that cold or waaaay colder for at least 6 months of the year. That oil isn't going anywhere fast at those frigid temperatures; it needs to warm up.

And if my province is this cold, I can't imagine states like Montana or North Dakota being any better. Maybe in California people don't need to warm up their cars, but here they do.
