I think its well done, in terms of execution, but there's something about the after I don't like. I can't put my finger on it. It might be the drawers that were removed maybe, but there's something about it that feels... unfinished? Or out of balance? I think I prefer the before, even though there's nothing I can pin point on the after that I don't like.

True that. My brother is nearing his 40s and makes probably twice as much as my sister, nearing her 30s. But she has way more disposable income than he does. Kids, a wife, a mortgage, and all the trimmings means she has far more play money than he does.

I'm nearing the end of my 20s, so I'm probably a little too close to have the perspective of someone much further removed, but for the sake of all those just beginning their 20s, I feel it necessary to point out that furniture is never, ever an investment. Its just not. An investment is something that's going to appreciate in value. With a few exceptions (very few and very far between), furniture doesn't accrue in value.

So, if you fall in live with a $10k sofa, don't talk yourself into it by saying "its too expensive, but its an investment". Its not. That's not to say that sometimes quality furniture doesn't have merits over cheaper stuff, but you're kidding yourself if you buy it to 'invest'.

Its totally okay to love something that's expensive or luxurious, but don't kid yourself about finances.
